Ready to wear
Our shoes do not need to be broken in. We offer maximum comfort without a footbed or stiffening so that the muscles can work naturally again and be strengthened. Flexible soles and supple uppers prevent calluses and chafing.

Freedom for your feet
Thanks to the anatomical fit, all toes have enough space in the shoe. Through thin and flexible soles without heels feel our foot nerves – after all more than on the face – the ground and send the sensory impressions to the brain. A natural sense of balance and ergonomic, joint-friendly movements can establish themselves.

No plastic on your skin
We process pollutant-free, sustainable natural materials that are locally produced if possible, that are fair traded and certified organic. Skin-friendly, breathable, yet water-repellent shoes are the result.

Responsibility for people and the environment
We produce under decent working conditions at fair wages in Europe and pay reasonable prices.

Finally we offer healthy and water-repellent shoes for children too!
The optional Smart Snake is a cool eye-catcher and even helps to put the shoes on: If the snake is intact, the shoes are on the correct sides.

For large „bebbos“
We finally allow the often badly battered and deformed larger feet to relax and enable regeneration.

For allergy sufferers
Our shoes are suitable for people who suffer from latex and chrome/ nickel allergies.

For blind people
Blind people also benefit from the "ground sensitivity" of the shoes.

Conventional shoes are often:
• too narrow and squeeze the toes

bebbo shoes combine beauty, function and responsibility.

We developed our own outsoles. Since we have also revised the large sizes, we needed new moulds for 21 pairs of soles. We have already financed some of these and are currently letting them produce. We have also improved the fit of the shoes so that we needed new lasts in all sizes without which a shoe cannot be "built". There are additional costs for material and production, which vary depending on the order quantity. And last but not least, the payment service providers, logistics companies and Startnext also receive their percentage.

This is how the 25,000€ is composed:
• 8,000€ remaining outsole moulds
• 15,000€ production order
• 2,000€ logistics, commissions and fees

We finance all other costs from our previous income and a bank loan.

HOW DOES CROWD FUNDING WORK?

You can donate a free amount here or buy goods at a discount. This counts as a pre-order with a long delivery time.

If we reach our funding target of 25,000€, we can finance sizes 25-45 (UK 8 kids - 10,5 adults, US 9 kids - 11,5 men) immediately.
Otherwise, we will add the missing sizes step by step and deliver them in the next few months by autumn 2021. We would inform you about which sizes will be manufactured and shipped and when.

SCHEDULE

Our crowdfunding campaign only runs for about one month! Startnext pays us the money three weeks after the end of the campaign. Only then can we order the shoes from the manufacturer and pay a deposit. After that, we need up to six weeks until all the material has been delivered to the factories. Another four weeks are needed to produce and transport the finished goods, so we will be able to deliver next winter.

WHAT ARE THE SHOES MADE OF?

"I chose every component in the shoe deliberately. All materials that your foot comes into direct contact with are skin-friendly, free of harmful substances and of natural origin."

• The sustainable Piñatex® certified by PETA is used for vegan shoes. The pineapple leaf fibres which would otherwise be incinerated (thus polluting by air) come from small farming cooperatives from the Philippines. The raw material is processed in Spain into a water-repellent, pollutant-free leather substitute.

• In the leather shoe, German cowhide (exclusively from meat production waste) is vegetable tanned using rhubarb and dyed free of harmful substances. The ultra-soft, breathable eco-leather impresses with its durability and haptics.

• The lining and insoles are made from fair traded organic cotton. We also process Portuguese bio-leather, hemp felt and cork "leather" from Portuguese sustainable forestry.

• In favour of better abrasion values ​​are our flexible outsoles made of synthetic and partly recycled rubber.

"I decided against natural rubber because it is unsuitable for sufferers from latex allergies and because it requires deforestation and cultivation in monocultures. In addition, EVERY natural rubber is mixed with a bit of synthetical rubber to compensate for the fluctuations in the natural raw material."

WHAT MODELS CAN I BUY?

We start with the model FREIGEIST (means free spirit) in five unisex versions per category.
Up to size 35 (UK kids 2,5, US youth 3.5) you can optionally order the Smart Snake (except black). Not only does it look great, it also shows your child if the sides are swapped.
All bebbinis have eyelets and a zip at the inside of the shoe so that the shoes are easy to open and close. (The zip was introduced after the photoshoot.)

When choosing the size for feet that are still growing calculate about 1mm increase per month (the older, the less) and think about when your child should start wearing the shoes.

Please do not worry now whether you choose the exact size here!
If your desired size has changed since the time of ordering please send us an email stating the transaction number. If you need a size that falls into the next higher price range we will surely find a solution.

HOW MUCH COST THE SHOES LATER?

We offer you generous discounts here in the campaign that you will never get again. There is less material in children's shoes but just as much work as in large shoes and they are more fiddly to manufacture. So that the kids' shoes remain affordable and we can still operate economically we scale our prices as follows (including 16% VAT):

HOW SUSTAINABLE IS IT?

Long durability
We use durable materials and additionally to glueing them on we afterwards sew the outsoles to the upper part.

Second hand stars
Our shoes are perfect for several rounds of wear and you can resell the shoes on appropriate internet portals as soon as your child has grown out of them.

Turn old into new
Another aspect is our outsole exchange service which we will offer twice a year in the future. For a fee you can send us your old shoes* and we will send them to Portugal and have them re-soled. Also possible for the previous shoe models. * only applies to cleaned and well-kept shoes

We save packaging material
We send the shoes without the usual additional carton. Because boxes can get scratches and dents as long as they protect the contents.

We don't stuff our shoes with paper to make them look nicer when you unpack them. This would require a lot of paper which is usually thrown away immediately after unpacking.

We use environmentally friendly paper tape instead of plastic tape.

Our insoles have a banderole made of recycled cardboard instead of the common plastic bag the factory would use.

We buy green power
We receive green electricity for our Berlin offices and in the store, separate our waste and mind our resources wherever possible.
Our shoe manufacturer has a solar system on the roof which he uses to cover around 35% of his electricity needs. The shoe factory, the last and sole makers separate their waste and if possible reuse their materials.
