The money will go to securing a higher pay for the actors, as well as hiring an intimacy coordinator to ensure a safe and ethical shoot of intimate scenes.
'오물철새' (omeul-cheolsae): literally 'filth migratory bird'
Wonwoo and Jeongyeon are these migratory birds; wanderers without a home. Having rejected social norms, they act on impulse: They eat, excrete and have sex in the abandoned building they call home.
The form of the film will be an observational, cinéma vérité, look into the lives of the characters. Their relationship will be revealed through vignettes, a slice taken out of their lives.
Length: 15 minutes
Our goal is to make this film a quality that we can be proud of, and submit it to festivals around the world.
This project is for you if:
- You're a Korean/Korean descent living in a foreign country.
- You're an outsider who feels like you can't belong.
- You're a fan of the brutal cinema of controversial Korean directors, such as Park Chan-wook, Kim Ki-duk, and Bong Joon-ho.
- You're a strong supporter of independent art films.
- You've ever been in a relationship where you wanted to run away with the other person.
Unfortunately, there is a lack of financial support for short films in Germany. It is especially challenging to find funding for student films.
However, just how a poem can move its reader despite the short length, we strive to make a short film that moves you.
Most of the crew will be comprised of passionate students, and thus they will work free of charge.
However, there will be roles that deserve to be rewarded for their hard work. The actors for one, will have to commit to a script that is both physically and emotionally demanding.
We will also be hiring an intimacy coordinator, to ensure a safe and ethical shoot of intimate scenes.
Our goal is to create a safe and comfortable working environment. This requires healthy food, access to water + electricity, and Corona safety measures. With your donation, you can make this possible.
The team consists of diverse, passionate students of MetFilm School Berlin. Together, we've shot numerous short films, a webseries, and a feature length film.
