With this amount Botunga can be finished and sent to print.
"Each child has the power, to turn the desert into a forest."
The book takes the reader on an adventure trip to Africa, where courageous children are on a mission to save their village Botunga and a special giant tree from a severe drought.
It was written with the intention to encourage the next generation to protect nature and find creative solutions dealing with environmental pollution.
The idea for the story came two years ago when Isabel iniciated the "Strong Roots Project" and invited a group of friends to share workshops at a school in Ghana.
This travel inspired the young author to write a story which could encourage children to protect nature, plant trees and find creative ways to recycle plasticwaste.
In June 2022 Botunga won the Austrian DIXI youth literature prize in the category Illustration.
The book is suitable for children from around 6 years, but also inspires teens and adults with its vibrant paintings and motivating message.
It is available in german, english and portuguese.
The goal is to share the book and workshops related with creative environmental education in drought affected areas of Westafrica.
With your support you are securing your book of Botunga and
contributing to convey love for nature and the importance of environmental protection to the next generation.
The proceeds of this campaign are going to be used to cover the costs of creating the final version of the book, to translate it to english, portuguese and frensh and printing it.
Part of the earnings will be used to finance a travel to Senegal and/or Mali&Burkina Faso for Isabel and her partner Diogo, where they want to share workshops and support reforestation projects.
There they also intend to spread the book Botunga in various schools and reach as many children as possible.
