In Iran we experience today how much people, and especially women, have to suffer from the brutality and arbitrariness of a totalitarian regime. According to new scientific findings, music in particular contributes to the fact that the resistance, which was almost leaderless due to the extremely brutal actions of the Revolutionary Guard, is united through the words of a song.
The song "Baraye Azadi" became such a message of unity because its lyrics address important common goals. The song made the people of Iran able to speak and encouraged them to take to the streets together for their freedom.
For more information explaining the amazing function and importance of this song in the iranian protest movement, we recommend this video from Guardian news
The artist community Schloss Röhrsdorf e.V. in cooperation with the American producer Sylvia Massy want to support Iranian artists in writing songs in order to encourage and unite the people of Iran. After the Chainbreaker Songcamp, the finished songs are freely available under a Creative Commons license so that they can be legally distributed in Iran and beyond.
With every euro you invest, you help us to enable dedicated artists to participate in Chainbreaker. We believe that this project provides the chance to write history and to positively change the living conditions of the people in Iran.
If you like to support us and receive a donation receipt please use this link :
The artists involved are willing to work on the project without remuneration. Your support will help us to pay for their accommodation, food and travel expenses. If your support goes beyond whats necessary to cover those expenses, we will be able to pay a fee to the artists and the supporting team. It will also help us to produce a documentation video that will help to gain public awareness for the chainbreaker project goals.
