With the achievement of the first funding goal, we can continue on our way as a team, make applications, win more supporters and convince investors.
Water is one of the most important resources on this planet. Yet even though water is essential for our survival, we are wasteful with it.
At present, recycling processes of water is energy- and cost-intensive. Many different technologies are used in order to clean dirty water, like filters for example or so-called cyclone separators. In this process a whirling vortex is created in order to centrifugate contaminating particles to the outside of the vortex and remove them. For the separation of particles with a higher density (e.g. Sand) the cyclone technology works very well. However suspended particles, particles with a similar density to water, like microplastic would not be captured from the centrifugal force and would circle in a swirling vortex on any of the arbitrary paths around its rotating center.
The CyFract Team has invented an innovative concept, in which water can be cost-effectively and environmentally friendly purified. Through the special internal geometry of the CyFract-Cyclone Separator, special flow conditions are created in the cyclone vortex, under which suspended particles can be detected together with particles of higher density and discharged from the water.
We do admit that the name „CyFract-Cyclone Separator“ sounds a bit complicated. But the technology is extremely robust. In contrast to existing water treatment plants, the CyFract technology’s susceptibility to interference and wear is significantly lower. At the same time, it consumes little energy and can be used in both small- and large-scale systems.
This development has first become possible due to the 3D-Printing-Technology. It allows for a modern, reliable, and inexpensive production of our system.
We appeal to anyone who uses water daily, whether for drinking, for cleaning or for use in industry and agriculture.
Our basic right to access to clean water also includes a duty to handle this resource carefully. We fulfill this responsibility by developing a cost-efficient, environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technology for water purification and treatment.
After several years of working in laboratories, the CyFract Principle was experimentally confirmed in an impressive way. We now wish to bring CyFract out of the lab and into the real world. Our next big step is the development of a prototype to prove the usability of our technology for real world applications.
At CyFract, we are absolutely convinced that our technology can make a decisive contribution to combating the increasing water shortage on Earth. With our crowdfunding campaign we are looking for more than just donors: we are looking for partners in this process with „smart capital“ and the same enthusiasm for CyFract that we have, to help spread the word, share ideas, and reach our full potential.
By supporting CyFract you are promoting an innovative water technology that can make this vital resource available to those even in remote regions of the world. Get involved and help to make our world fairer!
With your support we will come one big step closer to producing our CyFract prototype.
All participants are currently working as volunteers on the implementation of the idea. Their enthusiasm has never swayed and we would like to reward them as well as carrying out further experiments. With successful financing we may continue as a team, spread our idea and create more support for the CyFract and convince others to invest in clean water.
Our biggest goal is to see CyFract standing entrepreneurially on its own two feet and developing a technology to best serve those who need it most. Until this is realized, a lot of contaminated water will flow around the world – but every contribution of you brings us one step closer to changing this.
Not too long ago, CyFract was a one-man initiative. But the idea of a simple, clean and equitable water treatment system has made waves and now an international team of students, professors and mentors from industrial and scientific backgrounds stand behind CyFract.
The diversity of the group could not be topped: from electrical engineers to business information specialists, business consultants to mechatronics and aerospace engineers, everyone has contributed enthusiastically to the further development of CyFract.
As different as we are, we all have the same goal of making a lasting contribution to the well-being of man and nature. As scientists, entrepreneurs, and fellow humans, we are committed to finding answers to the most pressing challenges of the 21st century. As a social enterprise we are developing business solutions for social problems.
