The prototype for the tiny house is named "Nest“. It will be build in the public in Prinzessinnengarten Berlin Kreuzberg. The design of the "Nest" is based on a basic building block - a module made of wood. This module is constructed with timber and plywood, filled with natural insulation, for example wool. This simple modular design is applied in the construction of walls, ceilings and floors. In all phases, we focus on the use of simple tools and relatively low-cost materials.
The prototype will be build with the intention that everybody can easily learn how to rebuild a tiny house for her or his own purpose. Simplicity and affordability are the main goals. And of course the house will look great!
It is designed for:
Metropolitans,
who want a romantic cabin in the countryside
Adventurers,
who want to make a bonfire in front of their self-built hut
Homeowners,
desiring for more space for their children, visitors or to work
Communities,
which want to build and live together
Social projects,
in which the participation is important.
... And for all who believe, that living small makes life bigger.
Sustainability is on everyone's lips, but for many it means sacrifice or remains a luxury problem. Many times people do simply not know what they can contribute in their lives and expect corporations and politics to come up with solutions.
We believe there is another way:
+ find out what you can create with your own hands
+ build yourself a house
+ learn about energy-independent living
+ use your creativity
+ save money with do it yourself
+ gain freedom by living a simple life close to nature
+ move your body, feel your muscles, work in the open air, under the sun with your own hands
+ create a place for friends, family and adventure
+ build upon real social relations
You can participate in our project by:
+ supporting us with crowdfunding
+ designing the tiny house with us
+ taking part in our workshops
+ spreading our idea
+ discussing with us
+ rebuilding your own house
For building the tiny house we will need to buy the material, mostly wood from a hardware store. Additionally we will cover the expenses for the workshops during the public building.
We are Carlotta and Hendrik from Wieder Wild. On a long journey it has become clear to us that we want to participate in preserving our planet. Together with Lena, Christian, Larsen and Carsten we combine the most diverse talents. But above all, we have what you all out there also have: two hands and the desire to create something with a meaning.
We are a team of professional beginners.
We are like the people around us with whom we want to build this house - versatile.
We want to find out what we can do and what lies beyond.
