'Die Halle' is the first sports and community centre all about Parkour in northern Germany. Surrounding the Parkour and Freerunning, we want to creatively and unconventionally mix up sports, culture and art and thus create a unique and multi-layered space for possibilities. We open in sumer 2017. More info about the project available at www.diehalle.hamburg
A big focus in our work are projects aimed at the integration and inclusion of refugees, like our sports project 'Live Free, Run Free' and 'kNOw OBSTACLES' and the currently running dance- and movement-theatre ensemble 'Salon International'. Together with the 'Joblinge' we want to help create a fair start in the working world for refugees and people with difficult starting conditions. We are a lighthouse project of the German Olympic Sports Conferderation and nominated for 'Deutscher Integrationspreis'
In two 'Pre-Openings', we were able to very succesfully test-run the project. In just about 6 months, we were already able to reach over 3000 children and teenagers from all over Hamburg and with different social background.
We create a movement space that is open to as many people as possible.
Our work with refugees is aimed at children, teenagers and young adults. We want to welcome the participants to the community of 'Die Halle' and motivate them to participate in the training and in the project as such. They can freely participate in the open sessions.
Our participants are between 5 and (up until now) 55 years old and come from very diverse cultural backgrounds - with an unusually high number of female participants of about 40 percente - and come from the whole city of Hamburg, all over Germany and even from abroad.
Rules and limits in Parkour are set only by your own creativity. There is no competition, the only enemy is yourself.
Movement functions as a universal way to communicate and overcomes cultural and linguistic barriers. The recognition and support of the community conveigh security and self assurance. In dealing with physical obstacles, bodily and mental borders are experienced and overcome. The sportive challenges motivate to a sustainable and healthy lifestyle even apart from training. The community of Die Halle is shaped by mutual recognition and consideration.
There is only one rule in Parkour: Everybody can join!
With your support you make possible finishing 'Die Halle' until the opening in summer 2017.
Your donations are used to cover open parts of the financing, in order to finish the sports-stage, that is not only the center of the sports park including a foampit and various obstacles, but also can be used as a stage and presentation platform. It is thus also the center of our integrational and cultural projects. If you want more information, send us a message!
The project is made possible by the voluntary work of the Parkour Creation e.V. and countless friends, partners and helpers. You as supporters are meant to join us behind the project and we are soo happy to welcome you soon in Die Halle.
