Crowdfunding since 2010

Support POLLYTIKK in recording her first proper full length studio album 'Digital Slave' - mixing, mastering and paying musicians!

Pollytikk has been making music throughout all her life. On the doorstep to professional performance, she is now ready to record her first full length studio album. Instead of playing solo on a four-string guitar she wants to give her new songs the arrangement they deserve: A juicy bass and a thriving drumset will make the artist become a real band! By funding recording, mastering, musicians and cd pressing you will help her to make her dream come true and proceed her vocational way.

What is this project all about?

Producing and promoting a studio album: So far, Pollytikk has mainly performed on stages solo with her four-string guitar. However, her recent songs merit a new personal approach and incorporate electric bass and drums in order to form a more band-like arrangement that goes far beyond the quality of homemade demo recordings. Therefore, the songs ask for a professional sound engineer, a well balanced mastering and, of course, decently paid musicians. Once the album is recorded, promotional activities will help Pollytikk to appear in public.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Letting the songs free: In the past years, Pollytikk has performed numerous concerts between St. Petersburg, Berlin and Antwerpen. In the meantime, a lot of new songs have emerged from her experience of living in Europe as a stranger, of working as a computer-human and of love in times of undecidedness. The goal is to let these songs free. They have been waiting to be recorded and released. All people that enjoy genuine and frank songwriting and manually produced rock music, may they know Pollytikk already or not yet, will draw inspiration from this record.

Why would you support this project?

Become an independent music sponsor: By supporting this project you are giving a great opportunity to an independent music artist. Singing one's songs and playing music is rarely enough - you need money to produce a quality CD. With your support you're helping Pollytikk to fulfill her dream and give her songs a hand to be heard by a larger audience. In return, you will live in a world that sounds a little better than before!

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

Step by step to a quality record: If we reach the minimum funding of 4500 €, the money will be used for hiring a professional sound engineer that will record and mix the album in a proper recording studio in Berlin. Every day in the studio costs about 200 €. For recording and mixing we estimate a minimum time of 10 days in the studio. Mastering is the subsequent post-production of preparing the music recording so that it sounds good on all possible devices, be it in the concert hall or on a smart phone. This as well, requires very professional ears and hands and costs about 1000 €. For a pressing and printing of 1000 CDs 600 € are roughly enough. Last but not least, the involved musicians should get some pay for their sweat shed.

However, if we reach 6500 €, those ever underpaid musicians can get a dignified pay, more days in the studio allow us to produce a higher quality recording with more takes and less stress. CD production can be of higher quality and possibly last longer and look better. When reaching an incredible amount of 7500 €, we will be able to accompany the publication of the album with a proper promotional campaign.

Who are the people behind the project?

Polina Tikk-Grunert - singer
