Crowdfunding since 2010

We are building an interactive internet platform connecting Europe and Middle East - innovative, independent, value driven and unique. Be part of it!

An internet platform for people in Europe and the Middle East who want to learn more about each other independently of bad news which are dominating our media. People like you and me from the regions tell their personal stories with photo or video and share their intercultural experiences. Europe meets the Middle East. We develop projects in tourism, arts, business and learning for the future. We share the same values. Everybody can be part of it and join in.

What is this project all about?

Building bridges means connecting cultures that complement and enhance each other. As an Arabic student and extensive traveler, I got a glimpse of the treasures of the Middle East. Now, I want to share this privilege and contribute to further enhancing our societal interconnections. The platform will be successful if eastwest4us.com becomes a joint project. Ahlan wa sahlan - Welcome! is the open invitation to all of us.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The platform creates an open and independent space for encountering and people's learning. Personal everyday stories lead to a new way of meeting with each other and developing joint projects that are beneficial and forward looking. Independent of the prevalent crisis rhetoric. I invite all interested people, businesses and institutions from Europe and the Middle East to co-create the platform and make best use of it.

Why would you support this project?

You want to travel to a country that you only know from childhood stories? You don’t know what kind of products are available in Europe/Middle East? To what extent is art culturally defined? You would like to experience how people live in the desert or in the snow?..?..?..

eastwest4us provides access to each others cultures that drifted apart but contain so much opportunities for our growth. East and west are not opposites, they belong together. Stories help us to understand each other better and community spaces facilitate exchange. With projects in tourism, arts, business, education and learning for the future, we will set new standards.
Too many good reasons

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The money provides the starting capital for the first version of the platform in english. It will be used for technical, graphical and some content work. eastwest4us will comprise the following sections: 1. Personal stories and topics 2. Community sharing - with social media and sharing of own experiences 3. Connecting projects in tourism, arts, education and business/institutional development.

Who are the people behind the project?

Building Bridges is an initiative started by Katja Teuchmann based on her experiences as a business consultant and as Arabic student in the Middle East. The project team will grow gradually according to its resources and next stages.
