With successful funding, we will be able to cover the main expenses: payment for our sound engineer and basic production costs.
Recording a CD is almost old-fashioned in our day, but we discovered so many lovely compositions for our program that we want everybody with open ears to be able to share in this unheard and heartwarming music. As our world tour is still to come, you can bring us via disc or download into your living room and press repeat twenty-seven times on your favourite song – whatever you like!
Dive with us into gorgeous melodies that carry touching poetry about searching the stars, the dance of butterflies and the painful beauty of missing someone you love. Find leisure within the noise of everyday life for quiet moments in which you decide for yourself what you hear. Why not, every once in a while, choose some gentle tones and tender words?
In charge of recording will be Piotr Furmanzcyk, a real star in his field, who will take care of every detail and help us make a fantastic disc.
The composer Daryja Maminova, one of our closest friends, is meanwhile at her desk, composing something completely new: a vocalise, entirely wordless, nothing here to analyse or over-think. Just let go and follow the voice as a pure instrument that cozily beds itself on the sounds of the percussion. Along with this cherry on the cake, you will hear the subtle poetry of Emily Dickinson, Carl Sandburg and Matsuo Basho as well as verses from the Old Testament, set to music by Andrew Beall, Gene Koshinski, Jorge Vidales and Lynn Glassock. Never heard of them? Then it’s about time!
The rehearsals have started, and we’re insanely excited, both for all the new pieces and for your support and company through this amazing project!
Our ultimate goal is to create new kind of art song and giving recent compositions for this genre the space they deserve! We want to perform this music live, but we also want it to be easily accessible for people all over the globe.
This project is for everybody who likes to get to know new music, to support the composers and musicians of today, to champion a rich and diverse cultural landscape, to get a close-up view of a CD recording and its preparations; classical music lovers, all friends of percussion, patrons of chamber music, and of course everyone who’d like to help us – or who’d just like to see us work really hard!
A really good recording that you want to listen to again and again needs a lot of time and intensive work. This will without exception be done by professionals, who bring a lot of experience but still a fresh motivation. This guarantees that you will in the end hold something really special in your hands, and in fact you’ll be the first! To our supporters, we will send the new disc straight away, even before the official release. On top of that, we will keep you updated on our progress, and with various rewards you also have the possibility of meeting us and our work in person. If that’s too scary, there are of course numerous other rewards for you to choose from – scroll down to find out more...
Supporting culture is not only good for you; it’s also good for a rich cultural landscape, in which we all live and which we can be proud of! Therefore you’ll do something good for yourself, for us, and for our society.
With the money we’ve planned for the funding goal, we will be able to pay the basic costs of CD production. These will be the sound engineer’s payment and the production of the actual disc which you will eventually hold in your hands.
