Fairfilmed in India is a short film project which supports the initiative “Fairliebt in Jyothi” – a small sewing- and women empowerment project in the South-India.
The goal of “Fairliebt in Jyothi” is to support Indian women by giving them a secure and well-paid job and thereby leading their path into a promising and self-determined future. Above all, we aim to raise the women’s self-confidence and strength. Already today, there are ten Indian women working for “Fairliebt in Jyothi”, following the three principles of 100% fair, 100% handwork and 100% reinvestment, combined with the most sustainable mode of production possible.
All of the revenue benefits the project, ensuring its maintenance and enabling us to offer the women regular medical check-ups and the participation in awareness-building programs and literacy courses.
With this three to five minutes short film we want to introduce the project “Fairliebt in Jyothi”. The goal is to increase the project’s publicity in Germany and furthermore show a successful role model of Social Entrepreneurship. We want to address especially young people and students. “Fairliebt in Jyothi” aims to inspire young social start-up founders following Ashoka’s principles – “Everyone a Changemaker!”
Fairfilmed in India is a completely independent and free production. We work without any financial compensation simply because we are truly excited about the work of “Fairliebt in Jyothi” and want to support the project. Are you also inspired by the project? Help us turn our no-budget project into a low-budget project.

The filmmaker // Simon Straetker will travel to India as a filmmaker to capture the film on location. Back in Germany, he will then produce the short film together with his team.
The project leaders // Caro Rabe and Jeanine Glöyer will be in India at the same time as Simon - mainly to take the project ahead, while also looking for additional mercers. Furthermore, they will obviously play a central role in Simon’s film.
