Rescue Finca Vegana - a unique natural paradise

Due to the corona crisis, we have been forced to close the doors to our enchanting little world for an unspecified period of time. Spain is one of the hardest hit countries and we do not know when we can welcome guests again. Our existence depends upon tourism and since the beginning of March, we have not had any income. The financial reserves we built up over the Summer were used up over the Winter, and we can currently cover all costs for exactly one more month. We don’t know what comes after that.

At Finca Vegana we want to raise awareness for a more conscientious lifestyle. Here we enable people real encounters with one another and with nature and inspire through positive experiences with plant-based nutrition. The future is vegan - we firmly believe in that. Help us to hold on to this unique place.

Our first goal is to ensure the continued existence of Finca Vegana. With your support, we can cover the expected total loss of income due to the corona crisis, from March until October and continue to pay the running costs.

In the long term, we want to branch out from holiday accommodation. We would like to operate a small cafe with a packaging-free store, run by like-minded people from our community. The animals that we have rescued run free and are part of the Finca life. All in all, a place that allows people to dream big - with the smallest possible ecological footprint. And the best thing? This vision is, step by step, becoming a reality.

In the nearly two years that we have been operating the Finca, it has grown consistently. We have created an idyllic oasis for everyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A place where everyone, humans and animals, is free to be in harmony with nature. A place where the clocks move slower…

For us it comes naturally, to provide a familiar, comfortable experience. It is our number one priority. With immense attention to detail, we conjure up delicious food for you and always do our best to make you feel welcome.

Normally our season would have kicked off at Easter. For the moment, however, we have cancellations well into the summer and do not know whether we will be able to open again this year. The Spanish borders may remain closed for international tourism until the end of the year.

First and foremost, your support ensures the continued existence of Finca Vegana. Our running costs average €4500 per month and include rent, electricity, heating oil, communication costs for the website, telephone, internet and mailbox, as well as insurance, material for repairs and, of course, our groceries. A small buffer is also included to cover repairs to essential items like, for example, the washing machine, water pumps or the lawn mower, something is always bound to break down.

Throughout this period of lockdown, we don’t plan to stop working, creating, repairing, but would like to use the downtime to enhance your experience with us, make it even more extraordinary. A subsistent garden, compost toilets and solar energy are just some of the projects we are planning, all dependant of course, upon our financial situation. As always, we strive to use recycled materials as much as possible.
