I want to make a solo album that represents the music that I do now. My first Solo-CD was a mere Marimba-CD. Since that time there have been major musical changes in my life. Besides Marimba and voice the focus on this album will be the Pantam (this metal „ufo“ also called Handpan or falsely referred to as „Hang“).
My aim is to put as much tasks as possible into professional hands and most importantly pay them properly.

What is this project all about?
Your support enables me to express my love to music, to dedicate my life to music and to make it my profession. I am very thankful for the support I'm receiving and ask you to continue to support me for this album.
The Pantams, my voice and the marimba will fill it with sound.
My music sources from improvisation and is an expression of vitality, beauty, immersion, and concentration.
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
If you like my music, this project is for you.
I want this album to reflect my current musical developments. I want to continue to spread my music into the living-rooms of this world.
An important part of the project will also be, that filmmaker Katelyn Stiles will accompany the project with her camera. Small clips will be published regularly and shall help to extend my audience.

I am convinced that good, professional music is possible without the constraints of music industry. Show me, that I'm right.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
With your support I want to improve the working conditions for producing my next album. You help to finance the recording studio, the mixing/mastering, the pressing of the CDs, the coverart and design, the website of the project as well as the shipping.
An important share of the budget will be used to create short films with the filmmaker Katelyn Stiles. She will create an ongoing series of videos of the music and process.
I want to pay properly every person who is involved in this project.
Not reaching my funding goal will not prevent me from recording the album. In this case, improvisation, commitment, and perhaps some compromises have to replace the financial funds. For this case I set the Funding Threshold.
Who are the people behind the project?
Since a few years I have been living as a freelance musician in Berlin. Besides my concerts I play and compose for audio drama and film and I offer dancing and choir workshops.

„His right hand moves over the Pantam, in his left one he holds two sticks with whom he releases gentle, spherical-enchanting sounds from his marimba. On top of that you can hear his voice and as a listener you just feel a pleasant calm from the outisde and the inside. Through slight, rapidly flying and jumping touches by his fingers, his thumb, his carpus and his palms on the curved surface of the pantam Florian Betz produces peaceful sounds without scrolls. His improvisations are sometimes meditative and soft, sometimes powerful and dynamic.“

The Album will be produced and sent out to you before Christmas. All incomings above 5000 € will be spent for Video Productions. Videos are my most important Medium to present myself to partners.
