The first funding level of €40,000 allows us to shoot the rest of the film, finance post-production and finish it!
Is biomedical research at a turning point? Innovative technologies such as multi-organ chips, AI, 3D bioprinting and computer-aided models have the potential to replace animal testing while providing more accurate and faster results for humans. However, despite these promising developments, many animals are still used in research. Are animal studies really essential to medical progress?
FUTURE SCIENCE follows leading scientists researching replacement methods and sheds impressive light on the potential of these animal-free technologies. What prevents the breakthrough of such methods and what interests between science and industry stand in the way of a paradigm shift?
The film critically questions the current status and necessity of animal testing. What impact does the use of animal models have on medical progress and the development of new therapies? At the same time, it presents a vision of a future in which scientific knowledge is based on solid and ethically justifiable foundations, without animals having to suffer.
Last year we shot the first half of our movie. What started out as a small project quickly grew into something much bigger: During our intensive research and filming, we realized the immense potential of research methods that can replace animal testing. We now aim to make this important topic accessible to a wider audience through a 90-minute documentary, to raise awareness of the significance of animal-free research.
We want to start an open discussion and show how crucial this change is for future-oriented research. The film aims to raise awareness and pave the way to a future without animal testing.
We plan to release FUTURE SCIENCE in german theaters next year and then on DVD, Blu-ray and as a download afterwards.
In order to complete the film and get it out to the public, we need your support. This is the only way we will be able to conduct more important interviews, resolve outstanding issues and fund post-production.
Together we can make a difference - for science, for animals, and for our future.
The film is for everyone who cares about ethical, more efficient science and a future without animal testing. Our goal is to inspire tomorrow's scientists, challenge policy makers, and make science more transparent. We believe that Future Science has the potential to spark a broad debate on animal testing and highlight the urgency of a paradigm shift in research.
We recognize that animal testing is a complex and controversial issue. While some still argue that it's essential for medical progress, many examples show that results from animal testing often fail to translate effectively to humans. Modern, non-animal alternatives are more efficient, accurate, and provide quicker, reliable outcomes for human health. This film aims to raise awareness about the ethical and scientific challenges of animal testing and to influence policy decisions. By supporting this film, you contribute to shaping a future where science and ethics coexist harmoniously—without the need for animal testing.
