In March 2022, we, Nataliia, Marina, and Natalia, fled from Ukraine to Germany with our children. We quickly realized how challenging it is to start anew without language skills, contacts, or a sense of home. That's why we began building a network in our new homeland and organizing events together with our fellow travelers and many volunteers.
What started sporadically has now grown into a movement called "Café Ukraine," where we have already brought together over 4500 participants in our events. With the establishment of GUTEmission (e.V.), we aim to expand our offerings to refugees from other countries and support them in arriving and successfully integrating into the new cultural environment. Everyone is welcome at GUTEmission!
Our goal is to continuously develop our integration concept by refugees for refugees. With GUTEmission, we have launched a project that empowers individuals and helps them believe in themselves and unleash their abilities. Together with volunteer supporters, we organize a wide range of workshops and educational formats, inviting people of all ages to cultural events, concerts, and cooking workshops. In short, we are a generator of support, traditions, and energy.
Integration only works when people from different cultural backgrounds come together. We would greatly appreciate your support in this endeavor!
Although we still rely on donations and the work of volunteers, we aim to expand our project and establish a sustainable and stable structure. With the crowdfunding campaign, we intend to raise funds for the non-profit organization and secure a permanent location in Berlin where we can organize our future events. Our goal is to create a lasting meeting place for both refugees and other Berliners alike.
UPDATE:
We have thrilling news to share: we applied for funding from the Federal Program for Social Cohesion, and there's a strong possibility of receiving support starting on January 1, 2024. As a result, we've adjusted our crowdfunding goal to 3200 euros to ensure our activities and work with volunteers until the end of 2023!
——————————
These funds will be utilized to host our events and workshops, with a significant portion going towards venue rentals and acquiring materials needed for our workshops and events. If we reach 18200€, we can continue our work until the end of 2024, thanks to your support.
To secure a permanent location in Berlin, furnish it according to our needs, and operate it independently until the end of 2024, we need a minimum of €37,700. This space will also generate income through rentals, a café, paid workshops, and concerts, which will in turn benefit the organization and enable us to sustain our work beyond 2024.
With your help and this crowdfunding campaign, we aim to create a self-sustaining space that can serve as a long-term resource for refugees in Berlin.
As we are still in the process of establishing the organization and waiting for official recognition of our non-profit status, we have partnered with WE AID gGmbH, who provide us with the necessary financial infrastructure as co-initiators to realize this campaign. However, the entire sum will exclusively benefit our organization, minus the fees charged by Startnext.
GUTEmission e.V. is a non-profit organization founded by Nataliia Kovalenko, Marina Soroka, Natalia Rybalko, Anastasiya Zagorni, Darya Korotenko, Yuliya Levit, and Ana Lichtwer.
Together with Berliner Stadtmission and numerous volunteers, we have already organized many events for refugees in Berlin as part of the Café Ukraine initiative. Additionally, we were part of the Impact Startup Programms by PHINEO and have received support from WE AID gGmbH, who are assisting us in implementing this campaign.
GUTEmission
We support displaced individuals, particularly women with children, who have arrived in Germany from crisis-stricken areas. Through our initiative, we directly work towards empowering disadvantaged individuals, enabling their self-determination, and promoting their social and economic inclusion in our society.
Liebe/r Unterstützer/in,
