What is this project all about?

That's easy. We live in safety, we eat great food, we go on holidays and we send our kids to school. To us, all of this is pretty normal. For many people, it's not. And some people, like Helmut von Loebell, go out there and change that.

What makes Helmut von Loebell outstandingly special is that he has, for a long time, been sharing some of that comfort with kids that have hardly any outlook on safety and most of all, a future. Helmut von Loebell started CES WALDORF in 2002, after he co-founded SCALAS, the german-colombian social aid organisation, and the SOS-Kinderdorf Organisation in Colombia. His life and his actions have changed the situations of many families and their children to an extent that allows them to hope.
Helmut Loebell shows kids that they have a future.

We are going to produce a documentary film about his life and actions in Colombia and portray a man that achieved something that others wouldn't even dream of, who created a place of light and fun - not only to the children at CES Waldorf, but also their families.

The goal of this film is to inspire action and encourage sharing by following in the footsteps of a man who changes things.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The contextual goal of the documentary is to find out why Helmut von Loebell took this route and what made him follow through with it all these years. We want to tell the story of how it all started and record the difficulties, hurdles and challenges that had to be overtaken. We want to portray the people that make this project possible and have walked that rocky path with him.

Our personal goal is to produce a visually and contentual interesting and aesthetically valuable 30 min. film. We are planning to submit this fim to international film festivals and to make the story of Helmut von Loebell public and to encourage the audience to support his cause.

Why would you support this project?

There might be plentiful reasons for you to support the making of this documentary. You may like the idea, you may want to help us because you are personally close to the team or the Loebell family, you are interested to find out more about Sierra Morena and what Helmut von Loebell achieved there... Whatever your reasons might be, rest assured that we are grateful for your support, may it be financial or by spreading the word and inviting your friends to check it out via your facebook page or any other way you chose.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

We have a very efficient and dedicated team working on this project and the production process and logistics are backed by Helmut von Loebell and his team while we are in Bogota.
We absolutely believe in the power of the story we want to tell- if we can cover our essential costs, nothing is going to stop us from sharing this story with the world. Marie and Alexandra will fund this project with their time and skills, your money is needed to cover any external help we will need - from an assistant in Bogota to a fantastic motion graphics designer and editor when we have the footage.
Any extra funds we will raise will directly be put towards the quality of editing and motion graphics, for they are an essential part of the way we want to tell our story.

What your money will be used for:
- the cost of production (equipment, travel, team)
- filming in Bogota and Sierra Morena
- post-production and editing
- animations
