My silent battle against recurring depression is coming to the stage: as a dance duet to live acoustic music - and as a movie on the big screen.

In collaboration with the two contemporary dancers Amber Pansters and Christian Leveque, a choreography and a music video will be created for the eponymous song “In Dry Waters”, the lyrics of which represent a dialog with one's owMehr anzeigen

What is this project all about?

-> Short statement Video of both dancers (1 min)

Can you dance depression? Can you have a dialog with your fears?
These are the questions I've asked myself for my project “In Dry Waters”.

I myself, project initiator, musician and artist, have been suffering from recurring depression and anxiety disorders since childhood. In this project, I want to bring this experience to life in an interdisciplinary way with music, daMehr anzeigen

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

-> Short Video about the background and goals of the project (2,5 min)

In Dry Waters deals with depression and anxiety from the perspective of those affected. It is intended to contribute to more empathy and understanding on a social level and help reduce stigmatisation in relation to mental illness. It is also intended to create an opportunity for those affected to share their own experiences. Also I want to emphasize the long lasting struggle and effecMehr anzeigen

You support a young musician in her independence as a freelance artist as well as freelance musicians and dancers.

Through your support, you may give those affected the oppMehr anzeigen

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

With 20% of the project costs: € 3424, two concert evenings are fully financed (honoraria for both dancers and the musicians)

25% of the project costs: € 4279 secures us a little more budget for stage design and advertising material and a small part for our own deferred working time fees.

30% of the project costs: € 5135 € make it possible to pay us a little more of our deferred fees from directing, editing, rehearsals and project management.

The total projeMehr anzeigen

Who are the people behind the project?

The faces of this project are: the two contemporary dancers Amber Pansters and Christian Leveque and me, as project initiator and artist (composition, piano, voice, filming, choreography)

In this piece, Amber will represent me as the person affected by depression and Christian Leveque will embody depression and anxiety. Both dancers have worked with various international choreographers and will work with me on the choreography and process.
