The play is about a young woman, Chrisi, and her process of dealing with the experiences of sexual assault in her early childhood. In order to process her traumatic memories, she starts writing letters to her first girlfriend, and best friend during her childhood. In her letters she talks about flashbacks, insecurities, feelings of guilt, and depression. Intonation of silence shows the journey of a brave woman, who faces her past and fights for a just future - for herself and for others.
Intonation of Silence is for everyone who would like to learn more about its topic. The ideal goal is for people to grasp an understanding of what it means to be affected by sexual assault and dealing with its emotional consequences. For people who can relate to our protagonist, we´d like to show that they are not alone and that their thoughts and emotions are always justified.
Sexual assault, especially in families, is a topic that is very dear to our heart and we think it could be the same for you. We are an independent collective of artists and are working without funding. With our passion, talents, and hard work alone we will not be able to put this thing on stage! That’s where we need YOU! Every Euro helps us to put Intonation of Silence where it belongs…on stage!
We will be able to pay the theatre, the set-design, costumes and other important stuff to put this project on stage. In a nutshell: With your help this play is turned from a script into a full theatre experience!
