Life is Sound is Music!
I studied classical violin in Linz/Austria and after finishing I fell in love with the adventure of sound.
Since then, I’m interpreting, composing and improvising as a freelance musician in the field of contemporary music.
When touring throughout Europe in march of 2016 the double bass player Joëlle Léandre encouraged me to do a solo recording, so I did. Listening to the recording afterwards made me realize that::
When I´m improvising I’m merging all my previous varied experiences with sound, I find myself using all different types of sounds including scratching, whistling and singing.
Playing music solo is one of the most intense examinations with music - especially with improvised music. There is no musical human counterpart, instead you are directly exposed to the listener. The music grows from itself, truly and fully from one instrument, from yourself. The musical experience is condensed and directly communicating to the audience.
Together we are experiencing the magic of the moment, which on the CD is a snapshot of moment in time.
I’m honouring the instrument violin by exploring it and studying it further, broadening it’s possibilities and facets for example by combining it with voice - the violin is so filled with beautiful colors which want to be pushed and developed further in the context of contemporary music.
Alongside the die-hard fans of contemporary and free improvised music, this recording will appeal to curious - adventurous - attentive people, who are keen to experience a traditional instrument like the violin in a new context.
… because even in Austria receiving public fundings is challenging.
… because there is more than just Mozart and Bach, and there should be. Much more!
… because the violin is a wonderful instrument and worth developing further!
… because music needs an audience!
… because you will have a special CD at home!!
(… and because with my very first succesfully run crowd funding, you’ll make one musician very happy!!)
I´ve already recorded in march in Paris and FOU records wants to release the CD. With your support the preliminary financing of studio costs, mixing and mastering will be covered!
