Crowdfunding since 2010

I love Venice? Printmaking from the only but highly art rich city on stilts.

"Her Highness" – La Serenissima ! Venice, the next stop on my voyagers map seems to be yet another extraterrestrial spot, that I will devote my time to. Once, THE city of trading, a cultural melting pot, a magnet for travelers, artists and dreamers. What does still lie beyond this mysterious mask, the stubborn carnival of mass tourism and a traditional world, where a woman is not supposed to become a gondolier?

What is this project all about?

Art production is one of the main subjects in life of artists. This project deals on various layers with this specific process, questioning the modes that ground creative work nowadays.

Is one willing to call artistic work real work? Does an artist have to execute wagework, only to be able to produce art ?
How realistic is a concious decision to make one's living through art?

What kind of value does one assign to processes of traditional artistic creation and craft work?
Can art still be aesthetic or does it have to show a political position?

What is a unique piece that cannot be reproduced and how much value does a limited edition posses?
How much fashion, management and marketing is hidden in successful contemporary art?

The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica di Venezia allows for young artists to intensively study traditional and analogue techniques of printmaking and a broad archive of artist books.
I am lucky to get the chance to stay for 5 months in that miraculous surrounding, while voluntarily diving into the magic of the printshop where I'll work shoulder to shoulder with international artists in residence and young italian students.

All works produced there by my hands are going to be directly exchanged with you for your kind support that's allowing for this process to be launched.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

This project is supposed to open up processes to interested eyes and to enable a new perspective on contemporary art making far from moguls of the art market, to explore limits of personal and traditional values, to personally fuel the artistic process and to satisfy oneself by the outcome.

You may count yourself a target if for instance you are:
a collector, or like to become one, now that the art is still cheap, a paper fetishist or a synaesthete, calling yourself art lover or vehement non-artist, being a realist and dreamer, a sailor or you like wearing hats, a person believing that their child could have made that equally well (you are probably right!) and also if you're a passionate deputy of the fraction 'Oh, you study art? And what are you gonna be when you grow up?' as well as all members of the band 'Sighing Out Loud, wide-eyed & wishing you well'

And it will be especially seducing to all humans who love to receive real air mail!

Why would you support this project?

I don't have to explain a thing to those who have hold or seen the outcome of my last succesful crowd funded campaing.
To everyone else let me assure you, that there is no greater present than the trust that slumbers within your recognition of my work by your financial support.

In previous days in Paris, Picasso used to backsidedly draw onto his paychecks, in order for the bartender or waitor or restaurant owner to decide, whether the actual cash value would equal or surmount the potentially rising artistic value of the piece.

And last but not least we can always take-for-granted what nobody ever brought to proof:
Art funders live long and prosper !

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

Venice is an expensive terrain. Nevertheless I will afford the costs of living (and German obligatory health insurance) by myself while most of the monthly rent for a room (approximately around 400€) will just about be covered by an ERASMUS grant.

Only with your support, the successful outcome of this campaign will enable me to proceed my project, namely the actual art making process in all it's magnificently rough beauty. This means before all, to purchase all materials and tools required such as high quality paper, inks and other colours for the printworks plus the postal charges for sending the smaller and unique in sithu pieces and poetic notes.

You'll specifically be supporting my objective to make a living as an artist !

That's why already here and now I am grateful for each and every potential supporter. – Mille Grazie <3

Who are the people behind the project?

5 years after my first successful campaign
"ISLAND.experience – zeit sich zeit zu nehmen" I dare again to trust the support of the beautiful crowd with it's high affinity to fine hand made art works.

Grown up in Braunschweig, Germany.
Spent formative one year's stays in France (Paris) and Iceland. Studies at HBK Braunschweig - University of Art since 2010.

BA in Visual Communication at lower Saxonies largest Art University, HBK Braunschweig. Followed up by Diploma Studies of Fine Arts since 2015.
Initially with von Sonja Alhäuser (drawing class),
later still focused on drawing with Nadine Fecht, Isa Melsheimer,
as well as parallelly growing a highly performative
less material interest through the influence of Eroca Nicols and
as a member of the class 'space concepts' with Candice Breitz.

As a self named 'trans-artist' skipping between disciplines, always and again cracking up and aiming for motion, in her work the artist combines mostly in spatial installations photography and objects, drawing and sculpture, body and space, sonority and pleasure, writing and performance.
