Crowdfunding since 2010

True appreciation for farmer and customer by using the Two-Kings-Principle.

KAFFEEkostBAR is a place of appreciation lived out - towards customers, farmers and of course coffee. Here you are offered prize-winning coffee from Flores/Indonesia, freshly roasted, in beans or grinded, manually brewed in all kinds of methods, to enjoy right there or as take-away.

What is this project all about?

We would like to launch KAFFEEkostBAR in Dresden-Neustadt. What is KAFFEEkostBAR and who are we?

KAFFEEkostBAR is a place of appreciation.

How do we know? In summer 2015 we launched the first and until today only KAFFEEkostBAR in Döbeln, a small town in Saxony. Here we roast our high quality, prizewinning coffee, directly bought from the farmers in Flores, Indonesia. Here we manually brew the coffee and while doing so build relationships with our customers.

We - a start-up in direct coffee trade - are totally committed to the Two-Kings-Principle. That is the deep conviction that only a two-way appreciation can cause true satisfaction on both sides. Customer as well as coffee farmer are king.

Our goal is to help customer and farmer to relate directly - in our KAFFEEkostBAR.

This is what we would like to do:

1. To rent a location in Dresden Neustadt - we already found the perfect spot.

2. Invite a young Kenyan called Eric* to come over to Germany and get trained as store manager and barista.

*We already financed for Eric a six month stay with the coffee farmers in Flores (Jan-June 2018). There he built friendships, learned a lot about coffee farming, harvesting and processing. All, so that he can start teaching small scale farmers in Kenya. But first we also want him to learn how to brew coffee well and how to manage a coffee shop. At KAFFEEkostBAR in Dresden he can do all that and "introduce" the customers to the farmers, his friends. With all the accumulated knowledge we would like to send him back to Kenya beginning 2020 where he then can start making a difference using the Two-Kings-Principle (of course we will stand by him) and maybe by launching KAFFEEkostBAR in his home country.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Our goal:
We want to make known the Two-Kings-Principle. Show people of every kind true appreciation, here and on the other side of the globe. Not on a big scale but by building personal relationships. The vehicle we use is high quality, prize-winning coffee.

The project is for:
Everyone. Neither only for the farmers nor only for the customers. Everyone is precious and can experience that in our KAFFEEkostBAR. (Even people who don't like coffee - believe or not!)

Why would you support this project?

Everyone who in some way longs for more righteousness can very practically help birthing it. In our case it will affect the unjust world of coffee.

[list]
  • The launching of KAFFEEkostBAR in Dresden means the coffee farmers in Flores Ostmanggarai can sell more beans according to the Two-Kings-Principle. Right now they still have to sell the bigger part of their harvest for unjust prices.
  • Every supporter will help to establish the Two-Kings-Principle in Kenya in the near future.
  • Besides that: the kings over here, the people in Dresden who are facing different kinds of struggle (politivally, socially) will be helped by being shown true appreciation.
  • Every supporter builds, births and nourishes healthy friendships. He actually helps building a bridge that erases all intermediary trade steps.
  • How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

We will start renovating and setting up the chosen location in Dresden Neustadt - create a new KAFFEEkostBAR. The biggest part of the money will go into that.

A smaller part we would like to use for buying and importing green beans from Flores.

Who are the people behind the project?

We are Nicolas und Eva Sihombing, founder of KAFFEEkostBAR. Then there is Eric Mwirigi Kithao from Kenya who dreams of establishing the Two-Kings-Principle in his home country. And of course there are the coffee farmers in Indonesia, working together as ASNIKOM and lead by Lodovikus Vadirman, our very good friend. Finally there are all the customers who already experienced KAFFEEkostBAR and who are convinced that far more people should have a taste of it.
