The future Künstlerhaus is to become a place where Grönland's art will be initially preserved and restored, consequently it is planned to organize curated exhibitions for visitors. In the future, this Künstlerhaus will also be a place for artists' residencies and thus enhance this rural region.
The goal is to preserve the house and the art. In a Künstlerhaus the works can be carefully preserved, viewed and as the need arises restored. There will be showrooms and depots that will allow us to preserve the oeuvre for the future.
The target group are those interested in art, but also people who would rather preserve than destroy the life's work of lesser-known artists.
Even the house in which Grönland last lived and worked should not give way to a new building. Since it is a relatively originally preserved typical 1950s single-family house, which would remain as an interesting historical remnant of the region. After careful renovation it is to become accessible to visitors.
Organizing a Künstlerhaus in East Westphalia is something very special. Grönland loved this country, with its diverse structures. The small town of Löhne is a typical, rurally modernized village, sprawled and disintegrating into small neighborhoods. Particularly typical is the Resiek. Preserving a house from the 1950s here and at the same time giving modern art a place to stay should be supported in order to let time stand still for a while, linger and perhaps to discover ones affection for art.
With successful financing, Grönland's art and its place of origin, the house, will not be separated and the pictures will not be stored and forgotten somewhere. However, the house belongs to a community of heirs, half of which must be disbursed so that the project can be realized. If this has been financed, funds will continue to be needed for the preservation and exhibition of the works. It is also planned to change the supply of energy and water to establish an environment-friendly Künstlerhaus.
Members of this project are Grönlands sister Dr. Susanne Kolbus, his two nieces Julia and Sophia Noémi, and Dr. Peter Vertesalji.

Vielen Dank!
