Crowdfunding since 2010

Comes the bus - comes the art! A mobile treasure chamber for children and young people. It offers space for creativity, encounter and deceleration.

The KUBU is a mobile artbus for children and young people. We, the artbus association, want to reach places with our bus where there are still few artistic offers to be found. We offer the space and the opportunity to try out artistically and discover your own potentials and abilities. We are a non-profit association, we can create donation certificates and your donation is therefore tax deductible.

What is this project all about?

The idea is to invite children and young people to get creative and explore topics artistically. With the KUBU, we can travel to locations throughout Germany, because we are mobile and space-independent.
We offer:

  • Open art workshops
  • art therapy single setting
  • production of naturecolour
  • art upcycling
  • dance and theatre
  • construction of masks
  • adventure education programs
  • circus: stiltwalking, juggling, single-wheel ride, Poi, devil sticks,
  • music, construction of instruments
  • street art, intervention in public space

As soon as the art bus is finished, we are ready to start off! We are currently planning a "opening festival" which will take place in Karlsruhe at the end of September.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The art and theatre educational offers of The Kunstbus e.V are aimed primarily at children and young people. These are to take place mainly in schools, youth recreation homes, accommodation and residential areas.
However, the art bus is open to all, regardless of cultural, religious and socio-economic background.

The aim is to arouse curiosity about art. We want to encourage you to playfully try out our offerings - to awaken and activate natural resources and talents.
With the bus we can work flexibly and location-free. We are therefore not bound by institutional spaces - but we want to work with them, make use of their realities and include them in our offers. We see ourselves as a necessary and useful complement to institutional education work.

Why would you support this project?

Because we can reach children and young people who otherwise have little or no opportunity to participate in artistic activities!
In order for this to be possible and for us to be able to make many children's eyes shine, we need you!
We thank you very much for your support and you can choose a thank you gift. Maybe you'll find a great place to make art? :)

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The money will initially be invested in the expansion of the art bus. For example, the VW LT 35 (built in 1980) needed new tyres and the removable house needed a weatherproof roof.
And in addition to fuel and insurance, we need a lot of meaningful materials, e.B. canvases, colors, pencils, juggling balls, singing bowls, etc.

Who are the people behind the project?

Behind this project is the association "Kunstbus e.V.- Der KUBU kommt!"
This currently consists of a team of eleven people, who mainly work in art therapy, theatre and adventure education and musical fields. The initial ignition for this project came from the art therapist Jil Beyer.

She has converted an old fire truck into a mobile studio and now wants to get the project rolling with the KUBU team.
Together in the association, we volunteer for the creative promotion of children and young people. Because we are convinced: art strengthens and brings a great joy to life :)
