We can cover our costs for raw materials, the production, wages of our workers and the delivery of the selected product to you.
Based on Indian traditions we produce compostable disposable tableware for the German market.
The Siali plant is a wild growing robust climbing plant from the Indian primeval forests. Its leaves are carefully picked by the local inhabitants. By adhering to a strict limitation of the harvest quantity and paying them fair prices for the raw material, we create an additional economic interest in the preservation of the ecosystem and thus protect the rainforest, e.g. from clearing or exploitation.
Using a traditional sewing technique, the leaves are sewn with wild grass blades and then heat-pressed and UV-sterilized in our own manufacture only a few kilometers away. This way they do not require chemical nonsense and meet all the requirements of conventional disposable tableware.
Our entire product line is...
It is especially important to us to treat our fellow humans and nature with respect throughout the whole production process.
But where do we currently stand?
In addition to our own manufacturing facility and a finished product with all the necessary certifications, we already have a secure supply chain.
With your help, numerous consumers could soon be holding our disposable tableware in their hands. As a supporter in our campaign YOU are one of the very first.
With our eco-friendly disposable tableware we do not only want to revolutionize your next outdoor experience, but also make a lasting difference. On July 3, 2021, an EU-wide ban on the production and sale of numerous disposable plastic articles will come into effect. Thank god! We want to offer you the best environmentally friendly alternative.
Our vision is to combine environmental protection, social responsibility and practicality. So hopefully you will find us at the next food festival in your city or when you spontaneously feel like having lunch at your favorite restaurant.
We believe in ourselves. We believe in our product. We believe that environmental protection must become more complicated in order to bring about a change in society as a whole.
Currently, we are nine students in the team and are engaged in purely voluntary work. Our goal is to turn Leef Point into a successful social start up which ensures sustainable consumption in Germany and secures jobs in India.
Especially during pandemic times, secured jobs in India are valuable and necessary. Financial security serves as an indispensable foundation for education and hygiene. Furthermore, we provide our employees with health insurance and paid sick days.
The success of this campaign has a decisive influence on the development of our project. Your financial support secures the liquidity of our supply chain and enables us to enter the market at full speed.
With the achievement of the first funding target, we finance the costs from picking the raw material, up to the delivery to your home.
If the second funding target is achieved, we can ensure the necessary liquidity for further production in 2021. We are also investing in the development of To-Go Boxes.
We also plan to expand our production capacities at the end of 2021 and to build a larger manufacturing facility with new machines and more jobs.
Leef Point is a project of the entrepreneurship initiative Enactus Göttingen e.V.. We are all students from Göttingen and are volunteers with the goal to promote social and ecological innovation by founding social start-ups. The project team currently consists of nine students (Bachelor/Master/PhD) from different fields such as business management, corporate finance, business informatics and chemistry.
Our project partner Krishna has the idea of Leef Point. He was born and raised in Andhra Pradesh/India. Due to his family background in agriculture his passion for preserving mother nature is deeply rooted from childhood on.
His brother Hari, together with Suneetha, and Satish, is responsible for Resource & Production Management at our manufacturing facility in India. We also employ twelve people in production.
