What is this project all about?

The LENZBOX® is a contact lens box with integrated care function and is easy to use: Insert contacts - press the button - done! Your contacts are automatically rinsed with contact lens care solution and stored hygienically and safely until the next use. The LenzCare® solution cartridge lasts for up to 30 applications and can be simply replaced in one easy step.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

With LENZBOX®, we aim to innovate conventional contact lens care and storage, as well as to make wearing contact lenses as easy and comfortable as possible.

Therefore, the LENZBOX® is the unique solution for contact lens wearers who are looking for an innovative, convenient way to care for and store their contacts or who want to have their lenses ready to hand wherever they are - even when they‘re on the go. The LENZBOX® is perfect for soft, silicone hydrogel-based contact lenses, such as annual or monthly lenses.

Who are the people behind the project?

Cornelius Doniga, M.D., who is himself a monthly lens wearer, was tired of the complicated and time-consuming lens care. After years of development, he together with Peter Bruhn succeeded in creating the LENZBOX®, an easy-to-use, all-in-one product for contact lens care and use. The founding duo and their team of five are working hard to prepare the market launch of the LENZBOX® this autumn 2023.

Why does this project contribute to this goal?

The care process is hygienic, the contacts are stored safely and moist. Thus, LENZBOX® promotes eye health and human well-being by making the contact lenses comfortable to wear. LENZBOX® also protects the climate by producing less waste, microplastic and packaging waste. This is because LENZBOX® encourages monthly lens wear, which reduces the amount of discarded daily lenses & also requires less liquid than traditional lens care.
