Sustainable consumption

What is this project all about?

limo creates unique clothing that is fun to wear and easy to combine. At the same time as few resources as possible are used in the production.

That means:

  • As little consumption of resources as possible through upcycling and processing of industrial waste.
  • Fashion that is easy to combine and versatile!

Because: The most sustainable way is to use what already exists. That is why only production samples, discarded goods and returned goods from well-known German shirt manufacturers and residual items from the textile industry are used.

A mini-series of the new Nina design is to be produced by a Frankfurt social business. Stitch by Stitch [https://www.stitchbystitch.de/][/url] combines integration and building one's own existence through training or permanent employment with fair production in Germany.

What makes Nina so special?

  • 100% Upcycling: from discarded men's shirts and industrial leftovers
  • Comfortable to wear: Made from the finest cotton jersey
  • Versatile: in summer as a top, in autumn and spring as a slipover
  • Special design details: button placket of the men's shirt in the front, attached sleeves in bat optics
  • Sustainably manufactured: In a Frankfurt social business

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The top Nina is produced under fair conditions in Germany.

limo is the right brand for you if...

  • ...you are enthusiastic about fashion
  • ...sustainability should not remain just a buzzword for you
  • ... you want to support the change in the fashion industry

Why would you support this project?

120 billion pieces of clothing are manufactured worldwide every year. About every tenth piece remains unsold. In Germany alone, some 100 million unnecessary items of clothing accumulate every year and in many cases end up in the used clothing collection or on the landfill.
That's why limo transforms industrial leftovers into stylish, high-quality clothing items.
Since the end of 2020, I have been passionately building a sustainable brand from Germany.
For your support you get:

  • ...as one of the first, our brand new, high-quality processed Top Nina
  • ...exclusive access to the Friends of limo community
  • ...beautiful accessories made from fabric leftovers from our studio

You don't just buy fashion, you walk the path to a new form of consumption together with us.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

Since it was founded in 2020, all limo products have been manufactured by the founder Katharina in the limo workshop. To be able to outsource production and produce more pieces a mini-series of the new design Nina is to be produced by the Frankfurt-based social business Stitch-by-Stitch. Stitch by Stitch combines integration and building one's own existence through training or permanent employment with fair production in Germany.

Less is More: Less resources - more quality and style.

Who are the people behind the project?

I am a trained dressmaker and hold a doctorate in entrepreneurship and innovation. After several years as a consultant in the start-up industry, I was drawn back to my creative roots. limo is my contribution to fair fashion and offers me the opportunity to combine my passion for fashion and sustainability.

What are the sustainable development goals of this project?

Primary sustainable development goal

12
Sustainable consumption

Why does this project contribute to this goal?

limo only uses industrial leftovers - production samples, unsold and returns from German manufacturers as well as leftovers from the textile industry. Upcycling requires significantly less energy than recycling. This enables me to produce first-class products and at the same time use as few resources as possible through upcycling.
The production takes place 100% in Germany. Thus, limo does justice to ecological and social sustainability.

This project also pays toward those goals
