Before the COVID19 crisis hit us, we had to temporarily close Fiese Remise to complete works required by Bauamt. That was already a hard situation, we had to move all the events to friendly locations around the city, and we were hoping to manage the needed works until summer. We were working hard to manage the costs for both locations just with our little, but powerful baby, Diskothek Melancholie 2. Now, we are stranded with zero income, and there are rents, running costs, open invoices, insurances and essential works to be done and paid for. We survived the first couple weeks, but we wont make couple months.
The only hope that we have for these hard times is that we will survive the months, when we cannot open. We already got rid of any of the costs we could. Now, in the light of the club staying closed until at least August, we are calling to the people who danced their nights away with us, who smiled at our creations, who liked out crazy ideas, to our little bubble - help us get through these hard times.
We put our hearts into our two clubs, we put years of love, sweat, believing, fighting into steering them through good and bad times, and we created two thriving spaces which are open to diverse genres, experienced promoters, and newcomers, places where everybody who puts love and tolerance as their motto can feel free to be themselves. We made them not only to our jobs, but also to our homes, made family of the crew and collaborators, made impossible happen many times over and over again, and now, in the face of the situation, we need to ask for your help to make sure that we will have a place to come back to - when we finally are allowed to.
The money collected will get us through two to three months of reduced fixed costs we still have, after applying for the possible state help programs. We are looking at two locations, with two rents, with urgent works we had started before the crisis came, with couple essential coworkers left.
Behind Fiese Remise and Diskothek Melancholie 2 stands a team of people with up to 20 years of experience in the Berlin's club scene, people who have raised their families doing what they love the most and can do the best. We are a big team of 40 coworkers, from students to old foxes of the Berlin nightlife. Not only we work on the club projects, but some of us belong also to teams of Sage Restaurant, and with our work here in Berlin, we support Sage Hospital in Warang, Senegal.
