This project is about devotion to life and music. The compositions are reduced to their minimal essence, jazz harmonies are intertwined with accessible melodies, and poetry is leading the way to untold stories and undiscovered places.
The goal is to record an album that is fresh, interesting and will accompany as many people as possible through their everyday lives. The music is for everyone who is interested in uncommon stories and familiar sounds, who love acoustic, original music, who want to be surprised and for those who are interested in heartfelt and raw poetry.
This is everything but canned music.
Up to this point, the project has been entirely self funded and it took a lot of time, heart, idealism and money to get where we are today.
Even though culture and art are essential for our society, it is getting more and more difficult for musicians to realize their goals and contribute.
Besides the artistic aspiration we would like to bring people closer together through the common experience of listening to music and to share the emotions the songs aim to transport.
This project is for everyone who wants to support music and culture or simply loves to listen to acoustic and creative music.
If the project is successfully funded the money goes towards the studio, travel expenses, mixing, mastering, graphic design and pressing the record.
Behind the project is Maria Christina, a singer and composer.
She studied jazz voice in Graz and New York and is now living in Berlin. After the release of her first album, it came to a drastic change in her life and music: away from her comfort zone and away from modern jazz towards this acoustic, poetic and personal album. It couldn't have been anyone else than her dear colleague Federico Casagrande, who arranged the music for guitar and is the counterpart to Maria's vocals. The many travels between Berlin and Paris are now paying off through their coming album.
