About to record the CD for Debussy's anniversary 2018! (... les Préludes sont des images)
After my debut CD "Russian Moments", it is time for my next solo CD! On the occasion of Claude Debussy's 100th death anniversary in 2018, I am dedicating this program solely to his work: Images Book 2, Children's Corner, Preludes Book 1. The decision for this program did not come easily, since it consists of very well-known repertoire. But with Debussy's music, I feel a very special connection (see "Who are the people behind the project?")...

What is this project all about?
I enjoy losing myself in Debussy's atmospheric world of sound. With their often dreamy sentiment, his pieces sometimes remind me of myself.
That's why - on the occasion of his 100th death anniversary - I would like to dedicate my second solo CD (SACD) solely to the work of French composer Claude Debussy.
The repertoire will consist of Preludes (book 1), Children's Corner and Images (book 2). Since these are some of Debussy's most well-known pieces, it took me a great deal of courage to finally decide for it and let others compare me to the "great masters".
But my gut feeling tells me that I need to do this! And if you would like to support me in how I feel, please choose one or more rewards and help me with the realization of this project!
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
For me, Debussy's music is always a journey - the listener is taken through different mental and emotional states. These are calm and relaxing at times and moving and stormy at others, but can also be humorous, innocent or deeply sad.
This is for everyone who would like to take this manifold journey with me! The rewards help me undertake this trip and could be your ticket to travel along ;)
Why would you support this project?
A high-quality CD production with all the trimmings (photographs, videos, press work) costs a lot of money. For me as a student, this poses a difficult financial challenge. No matter how small or big your support - only with your help, I can meet this challenge!
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
With the label ARS Produktion it works as follows: The artist buys a certain amount of CD's (SACD's) upfront, which includes the costs of rent for the hall, instrument, tuner, sound engineer, pressing plant and distributor. In my case that would be 1000 pieces for the price of 10000€.
A great multimedia package with professional photographs for cover and booklet and a high-quality video trailer adds about 2500-3000€ on top.
The all-important press work of a professional PR agency adds another 1500-2000€.
Who are the people behind the project?
My name is Mario Häring and I am a pianist.
I was born in Hannover, Germany but grew up in Berlin. Because my parents are musicians in an orchestra, I was surrounded by music and instruments from a very young age. This allowed me to become familiar with the vast diversity of classical music from early on in my life, which is why I still have a great interest in all kinds of repertoire.
With Debussy's music, I feel a special connection: He was deeply influenced by Asian music. And through my half-Japanese roots, in some passages I actually feel something which reminds me of my Asian half's home.
I was lucky enough to already record two CD's in the past. But because it has been a couple years since my last solo CD, I would love to realize this project with your help.
