Crowdfunding since 2010

Hilf uns einen inklusiven, transkulturellen und diversen Media-Workspace zu eröffnen und dadurch Vielfalt in der Medienlandschaft zu fördern.

The media should reflect the diversity of society! However, the challenges begin with the technical equipment costs and the difficulty of starting out in the industry. We want to open an inclusive, transcultural and diverse media workspace in Nuremberg. This should be barrier-free at all levels. Creative exchange, production of own media, implementation of social projects - these and many more possibilities are offered by a workspace that is accessible to everyone.

What is this project all about?

YouTube, blogs & social media journalism are new developments in the digital media landscape. Our association Diversity Media deals with the fast developing media world and uses it to promote the topics transculturalism, inclusion and diversity.

In order to promote and professionalize this process and to strengthen the empowerment of other media professionals, a barrier-free space is needed.
Therefore our main concern is to create a media workspace in Nuremberg.

Technical equipment is expensive and knowledge about media production is often difficult to access. Our diverse target group is affected by structural disadvantages, which makes access even more difficult. But the most important thing still needs to be mentioned: There are no offers for (young) adults to empower themselves in the media field. We adopt a comprehensive approach that enables people to be creative and create media themselves

Our open media workspace forms the basis for the development of creative and innovative ideas and social projects.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Inclusion takes place where queer and non-queer people, people with and without migration and refugee experience, with and without disabilities can meet and interact. Our offer is therefore aimed at all people, taking into account the needs of individual target groups.
Because accessibility does not only mean to install a lift or a ramp. It means taking material, social and language barriers into account and creating an environment in which everyone can participate.

Some of our goals are:

  • Participation of discriminated groups of people in arts, culture and media
  • A place for exchange and networking
  • Production support
  • Workshops for learning skills
  • Implementation of social and media education projects
  • Easier access to the media world
  • Improving empowerment, self-empowerment and self-esteem
  • Increasing publications from our target groups
  • Supporting the growing diversity in the media world

Why would you support this project?

With your support you bring a new, colourful wind into the media world. Our media workspace will be the centre for the creation of new media formats that you can hear and see now and in the future.
You help us to build a place where a constant creative exchange can take place between people who most likely would not otherwise come into contact with each other.
Your help is a launch for a multitude of new social and media educational projects that can be planned and implemented in the media workspace.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

As is well known, every beginning is difficult: innovative, new projects - including ours - often face the challenge of having to pay a deposit, rent, electricity and other running costs. To make our vision come true, we want to use the money exclusively for this purpose.
The more money we raise, the longer we see the future of the media workspace secured and the more time and opportunity we have to develop and implement sustainable financing models.

Who are the people behind the project?

Our team is diverse, young, modern and above all interdisciplinary Far more than half of us have a migrant background. We have a wide range of expertise in the field of media, art, culture and (media) education and are active in journalism, culture and the media sector. This makes us suitable participants for this and other projects.

We are growing: we are currently 15 people in the organisation team. Around us is a growing crowd of designers, artists, journalists and many other content creators and supporters.
