This project is all about producing my first solo album, Memories for a Rainy Day. The album will be recorded, mixed and mastered at the No Limits Studio Reiskirchen by my old friend Jürgen Zimmer. Most of the songs will be my own material, though the odd traditional track might sneak in. I will, of course, also invite guests to grace the arrangements but the heart and soul of each track will be my bouzouki or guitar and my voice, making this a true solo album.
The goal is to produce my solo album, Memories for a Rainy Day, till spring 2024. Anyone who considers themselves a lover of accoustic music should also enjoy this album - feel free to listen to the Soundcloud samples provided on this site to judge for yourself. You love melancholic songs that you can lose yourself in? We will have those aplenty. But you do like something silly in between? That will be included also. Love songs? Poems set to music? All under one roof!
You should support this project because here you have the chance to be my musical birth partner, helping me to make new songs see the light of day - or rather first the diffused light of the studio and later the darkness of your devices. Apart from my eternal gratitude you can get your hands on some very exclusive perks. You can either book one of the packages or simply choose multiple perks to build your own. A NOTE ON SHIPPING: Sadly, due to the higher prices for postage, the prices of the perks cited here do not include international shipping. Please allow for an additional charge - I will post a blog in due time on this matter.
All of the money will go towards financing the recording and production of the album. Some of it will also be used to pay for manufacturing your perks and the artists involved in the making of the CD should also receive a little something. However, I will neither buy Twitter with your money, nor settle on the Bahamas. Promised.
The main culprit is me, Sebastian Barwinek. I've been playing folk music for many moons now, (dis)gracing the stages of clubs, pubs, festivals and cafés in Germany, Scotland, England and Wales. Over the years I have added more and more originals to my set list but have yet to record a solo album focussing on these songs, despite having produced six other CDs with my various band and duo projects. My two chief accomplices are Jürgen Zimmer who will record, mix and master the album and Claus Jahn who is responsible for the videos and the photos.
