The first funding goal allows two events: one on Helmut Lachenmann's "pression" with Jost Halfmann, one with Ian Wilson on his new piece.
The advantages of online events are obvious: they are corona-safe, internationally accessible and easy to reach. However, there are two decisive disadvantages for online concerts: The sound is never like in a real concert. Not much can be done about this (especially since it depends largely on the end device). Secondly, there is a lack of online communication between the audience and the composer/artist. This is where the musical online salon comes in. Concentrating on a single work, it enables online and interregional discussions about music.
I’m going to play the focussed work at the end of the online-salon, we start with the piece either in its entirety or in a substantial section, depending on the duration.
The aim of the project is to maintain cultural life in spite of Corona. Culture also always lives on communication, an aspect that is neglected in unidirectional streaming. This project is for all those interested in music, any special expertise is not required for active participation.
An online event is per se international. With the two speakers, the basic language will be German, but questions and requests for translation into/to English are possible. With the two composers it will be the other way around: The basic language is English, if necessary a (partly) translation and German questions will be possible.
The project is a special variant among many ways to maintain cultural life despite Corona. Whoever is interested in music, is keen to experiment in the handling of event forms or is looking for the discourse about music, is right for this project.
The financing allows two or four events. One week before I will produce a short introductional video. The money is intended for the technical background (fee for the conference software, possibly necessary purchase of additional hardware). But essentially it serves as a fee for me and the speakers.

Unfortunately the matchingfonds of the City of Dresden wasn't big enough for all the projects they allowed for it. Without this help it's unrealistic to get the money in this way. So i applied for another funding in addition to the crowdfunding. With this it should be sufficient (but still necessary) to reach the first funding goal for all the four events.
