More salon music from the Bremen Fischer edition for horn and piano.

A second recording of music from the historic Fischer music collection for French horn and piano. This project gives me as a musician a creative thread throughout the pandemic, the listeners consolation and the city of Bremen a piece of rediscovered history.

What is this project all about?

The first CD of lost salon music for French horn is ready, but there is more music by unknown composers from the collection of the Fischer Verlag in Bremen that wants to be heard. From the 52 solo pieces for French horn, I have found further accompanying parts in order to be able to record more unknown romantic music - of course on original instruments including the A. E. Fischer / Uhlmann horn and the Streicher piano.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The ultimate goal of the project is to have an impact on the listener! This CD recording is intended to be a sound document, through which culture-hungry, lovers of the French horn, or anyone who understands music as consolation through sound, can experience this and learn more about the "Bremer City-Musicians" of the 19th century.

Why would you support this project?

It is my life's work because it presents the resuts of my musical-historical work combined with my understanding of the F. M. Alexander technique. With your contribution, you would not only help to create a sound experience, but also bring a piece of musical history back to light.
The largest collection of music for horn of its time includes not yet heard valuable works by little-known composers. The music from the Fischer collection for French horn, which was lost during the war, is of historical interest and complements the current horn repertoire. Salon music around 1900 invigorates our soul, allows us to transcend everyday life and process emotions.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

Transportation costs for the piano, rental of the recording hall, technical recording costs, editing and pressing of the CDs, text and graphic design of the booklet and postal costs for the thank-yous.

Who are the people behind the project?

Renée Allen, freelance horn player with expertise in historical performance practice and F.M. Alexander technique teacher.
