Mit unserer Kampagne haben wir 6 Wochen Zeit, die Umsatzsumme einzusammeln, die wir dieses Jahr benötigen, um weiter bestehen zu bleiben.
Naturblatt is part of a global social enterprise movement. With everything we do, we work towards a plastic-free future for all of us and a self-determined life for women in India.
In India, food is traditionally wrapped in leaves. At Naturblatt, we have reinvented this tradition. We are making our compostable palm leaf dishes by cooperating with independent women cooperatives in rural India.
Naturally sustainable
In India, there are large areca and coconut plantations. Our women collect the palm leaves, wash and dry them. Then the leaves are pressed into shape with a heat press.
For our products we only use what nature gives us: naturally fallen palm leaves, water and heat. Thus, our natural leaf products are compostable at home and therefore recyclable.
Naturally fair
Naturblatt buys the finished products from the women's cooperatives at a fair price and distributes them in Germany. We have deliberately chosen to work with the women's cooperatives, because in this way we strengthen the local women.
The work in the collectives enables the women to lead a self-determined life and to be financially independent.
Our goal: If disposable, then sustainable & fair.
One thing up front: reusable tableware is always our first choice. Our palm leaf dinnerware is meant for those few situations where ceramic is not an option: for example, at festivals or a picnic in nature. If disposable, then please plastic-free, compostable and fairly produced.
To this end, we work with independent women's cooperatives in India. This gives us full control over our supply chain and ensures fair payment. This cooperation strengthens the financial independence of local women.
Our target groups: From gastro to barbecue.
We want to reach more people and offer our products in the catering industry where sustainable disposable tableware is needed: in catering, street food or festivals.
But also for your private parties, our tableware is a sustainable alternative to disposable plastic.
Empowered people empower women and save the planet.
With your contribution you not only help to reduce plastic waste here in Germany. At the same time you empower women in India to become financially independent.
9 good reasons to support Naturblatt
If we reach the crowdfunding goal, it will ensure our continued existence this year. Specifically, if we reach the start level, we can place another order with the women's collectives.
With the leftover money raised, we want to expand our sales and marketing. And thus keep our promise to the women to enable them to distribute their products in Germany and Europe.
Vanakkam, hello, I'm Priya Selvaraj, social entrepreneur and founder of Naturblatt. The birth of my daughter was a turning point in my life. All of a sudden, you are not only responsible for yourself, but for a new generation.
During that time, I read a lot about the immense pollution of the oceans by single-use plastic. 50% of marine litter comes from single-use dishes, cutlery and food containers. From there, microplastics get into our food, our water, and eventually into our bodies.
For my daughter's birthday party, I was looking for plastic-free disposable tableware. I thought about my childhood in India: my mother wrapped our food for school in banana leaves.
From this memory came the idea of bringing compostable disposable tableware made from palm leaf from my home country of India to Europe. Today I sell natural leaf products in my adopted country Germany. Alea Sophie Ruiter and Antje Mann support me on a freelance basis.

For our products we use naturally fallen palm leaves, water and heat. That is why they are 100% compostable and therefore circular. This is how we promote sustainable consumption (SDG12).
For the production we cooperate with women cooperatives in India. With this cooperation we make a small contribution to fight poverty (SDG1) and provide decent work (SDG8), and promote gender equality (SDG5).
Crowdfunding bis 15. Mai
