Never Alone

There are two main parts of the project Never Alone.

1. Album:
From August till November I’m gonna spend 30 hours a week to record my first album
Breathing Sound.
My home studio is located in the bunker you’ve seen in the video.
This album is all about sound. The sound of my voice, my sound when playing drums, bass, guitar or even cello and piano. And the sound of the bunker itself!
The bunker became my musical home. This place, built 80 years ago in the middle of the second world war, is now the place I need to create the sound I love.
To reach best results I’m going to rent a bigger room and treat it acoustically so that the voice, drums and other instruments will sound warm and balanced. Besides that main recording room I’m gonna travel around in the bunker to capture different acoustics, f.e. aisles, staircase and other rooms that I can get access to.
Breathing sound is about analog sound and real rooms, about the home inside each of us and the magical feeling that we are never alone, no matter how far.

Bonus:
Never Alone is not only the title of this project but also the main title of Breathing Sound.
And this song I want to write with you together.

2. Concerts:
Ten concerts. You and me. Share my music. Lead you into my world. Be as I am.
Come as you are. Party together.

What:
My songs. Improvisations. Some talking and joking with you. A few covers from my heroes. And much singing, dancing and partying all together.

How much:
10€ for adults, 5€ for students, pupils and people under 18 —> bring your ID!

With Never Alone I am starting to share my music with you.
It is my hope that my sound will make your life a tiny bit warmer and merrier and as well help you going through dark and restless times that are part of our lives.
Who are you? I cannot say.
Young or old, shy or outgoing, tender or rough - maybe everything together?!
I find much love and dedication for very different kind of music.
This might be the reason, that each of you, dear guest and listener, will be very different, too.

Simply spoken: to feel never alone!

Level 1 - 2.000€: The studio room rent is payed! Nice!

Level 2 - 5.000€: The concert location rent including the sound engineer is done as well! Great!

Level 3 - 7.500€: The creation of a beautiful album cover by Tamina Uhrmeister and Ben Forbes is secured! Welcome lovely crew!

Level 4 - 10.000€: The most fantastic sounding partly self-made, partly professionally acquired acoustical room treatment for my home studio is done! Cheers!

Level 5 - 15.000€: Now my mics are on a wholly different level, I’m using now two N8 and one R92 from AEA and the lovely Telefunken TF39. You awesome girls and guys!!!

Level 6 - 20.000€: Wow - you want the best, you’ll get it. The mastering of the album will be done by Pete Lyman, founder and principle mastering engineer from Infrasonic in Nashville who actually inspired this tremendous sound journey of mine. For the best ones only the best!

Level 7 - 28.000€: Incredible but true: your support includes now the production costs of 1.000 beautifully recorded and designed double vinyls that will wait impatiently to get shipped - to you!!! …are ye ready to enter?

Level 8 - 37.000€: Who said music is expensive? Well, if we reach Level 8 I’d start to be scared. Because this is beyond my wildest dreams. You support now the technical heart of my home studio that makes all the sound difference: A Mothership from Burl Audio including four phenomenal mic preamps and the most incredible sounding monitor amplification. This gear is crucial if you love the analog sound. It is the most musical and warm translation from the analog “real” sound that my mics record into the data format that feeds our computers. It is a difference that you will hear - of course especially via vinyl but as well via the final digital files. You are hitting it!!!

Level 9 - 47.000€: You thought it stops here? Fare away! Now you have equipped me with a row of exquisite mixing gear: preamps, equalisers and compressors from ACME Audio, Retro Instruments, AMS Neve, Chandler Limited, AEA and Burl Audio. Aye! What’s all that for? Imagine I am a sound painter using special kinds of colours or differently formed brushes. Each preamp shapes the sound of a mic and the quality of equalisers and compressors make all the difference if it is about a rich and alive breathing sound. F****** hell: you scare me!

Level 10 - 55.000€: On this point I’ll have to order more vinyls. Honestly, this unbelievable amount of support would highly confuse me so I’ll stop talking about levels right now. Well, if we reach level 10, I promise you that we’ll party all together on one beautiful day. I love you all.
