This allows you to have the book appear in full page thickness plus CD. Otherwise I would have to reduce the number of pages and leave out the CD.
A personal, unique compilation of photographs from then and now (1928 to 2018) - 90 years of contemporary history on 160 pages. A photoband that is also a biography and soundtrack based on personal texts and photos of our family. Among other things, I juxtapose old photos from 1928 with new photos from the same camera position and show how New York has changed. The book is based on my grandfather's letters to his wife and children in Leipzig and describes his life in New York, but also the longing for his family. New York with Wooloworth and Flatirion Building were completely new and even then an attraction. His work as a bookbinder and photographer is described, as well as experiences like the arrival of the first Zeppelin!
I would like to create a photobook, which offers more than just glossy pages assembled from photo archives. I would like to tell a personal story, a journey through time from 1928 to the present day. A journey from Leipzig, via Bremen (my residence) to New York.
Target group:
All people who have already been to New York or would like to travel there. It is aimed at people who are interested in history and stories and want to get to know exciting music from New York.
Because a photobook of New York has never existed in this way before. Because it tells a personal story and gives insight into a time of 90 years ago, when it didn't take you two weeks to phone calls and letters from America to Germany. It is a journey back in time to 1928 for all of us.
You are the people who make this book possible in all its beauty and that's why I need your support and you get a great thank you for it!
I can publish the book in a 2000 edition and add additional information and photos that I couldn't put up without your help. NEW YORK "Past & Present" would only appear in a reduced version. It would be more than a pity not to be able to publish the book as a complete project with CD.If more money were to come in, this would already flow into one of the next TUVA "Past & Present" or Antarctica projects planned for 2020 and 2022.
I am a music producer working with musicians from New York. Since the 1980s I have been travelling to New York and discovered my family history some time ago. That's why my grandfather Theodor Trampler, who contributed his letters and half of the photos, is behind the project in the broadest sense of the word.
With American Songbirds I have already successfully realized a start text campaign in 2014.
