Crowdfunding since 2010
Ninja Arena is a round-based boardgame, which focuses on predictive planning and combat strategies. Within a wooden arena 2-4 players lead their ninjas into battle. Those solid arenas allow creative setups for new, challanging skirmishes. While creating Ninja Arena we focus our diligence on high quality, renewable resources as we are sick of all the plastic games out there.

What is this project all about?

We hope that Ninja Arena brings people together, to enjoy their common time at the game-table. Therefor we are creating a board game which flatters both haptic and visual senses as well as your clever minds. The game material is mostly solid wood (e.g. beech wood) and can be expected to last effortlessly throughout time.

Ninja Arena is easy to learn, very handy and can be played almost everywhere. By the way, you can slide multiple games together for larger gamer-groups; even without add-ons.
Short gameplay summary:

- Planning phase: Players plan their three hidden actions from 18 options
- Initiative: the fastest planning player picks his desired initiative for the combat round
- Combat phase: all three actions from the planning phase are executed and in case of a draw decided by initiative.

Even though some variations of Ninja Arena can be played by 6-year-olds, we highly recommend players starting from the age of 12 for a challenging battle. For the game setup you need a simple table and around 5 Minutes of game preparation. Every winning-round of Ninja Arena takes about 30 minutes, but can be extended or shortened by adjusting the health of every ninja in game.

Besides the target goal of the game (kill all enemy ninjas) we present some proven alternatives in the game instructions. We are looking forward to your own ideas how to play Ninja Arena and having a healthy discussion about it in our game forum.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Basically, everyone enjoying board- and parlor games or just the interaction with real challengers. The game enthusiasts, as we know them, are looking for a high quality game filled with long lasting game material. Exactly the strengths of Ninja Arena!

- Players who enjoy parlor games with their friends
- Everyone who appreciates sustainable game production with high quality material

Why would you support this project?

This project is about creating a well elaborated board game, which provides a higher standard as the omnipresent plastic games.

The main principle of the game allows your own variations and lets you create your own arena scenarios. Therefor every round of Ninja Arena will be different, encouraging players to assassinate boredom itself.

We use renewable resources for Ninja Arena and focus on our “made in Germany” tradition.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The funding will be used for the finishing touches on the ninjas and the production of the first games:

- Beech wood (e.g. arena boards)
- 3d Printer and wood filament (e.g. ninja figures)
- Special “thank you” and exclusive game material for our supporters

In the event of a higher funding we will put the extended budget into Ninja Arena. First we are looking to forge more ninja characters and raise the maximum number of players to eight.

Instead of later add-ons we focus on putting as many extras into the main Ninja Arena game as possible.

For the open, creative exchange with the players we will set up an internet forum. We are looking forward to your feedbacks as we enjoy being inspired by a brilliant community.

Who are the people behind the project?

We are a team of game enthusiasts, who passionately play board- and parlor games, test them and are now ready to present one of our best game ideas to the public.

Namely we are:

Rainer Schoof (idea and development)
Oliver Schneider (idea, development and resources)
Lindsey Baquero (graphic design and artwork)

Of course we are hoping to inspire new, creative minds to contribute to the project. We cheer for good input and feedbacks…
