What is this project all about?

Piñerka is our and your new favorite bum bag. It's obvious that the bum bag has made a comeback in recent years. It is the handbag for everyone. So it's time to make this super practical everyday accessory sustainable and stylish!

For this, we discovered Piñatex, a material made from the waste products of the pineapple harvest. Every year, about 40,000 tons of pineapple plant leaves are left over from the harvest worldwide, which normally end up in the trash. Piñatex is 100% vegan, PETA approved and GOTS certified. The material is also very durable and water repellent.

Piñerka is sewn near Warsaw, in a small tailoring shop. This small family business has the best sewing machines when it comes to processing leather-like materials.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

If the financing is successful, we can realize the first production of the Piñerka.

This means concretely:

Ordering materials and individual parts
Pay for the production
Shipping the bum bags in a climate-neutral way in grass cartons

You can choose the color of your Piñerka after the campaign is finished. On the pictures you can only see the two colours of our samples but the material is available in almost any colour - even gold! We ask for you preferred colour in the ordering process, the final selection of colours will be done after the campaign is finished.The higher the total amount of funding, the more colors we can offer.

Who are the people behind the project?

We are Anna & Johanna and together we founded FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE.

Anna is the creative head and founder of FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE - you can literally see the ideas bubbling out of her head as curls. With many years of experience in the fashion industry and the feeling of talking to big corporations against the wall when it came to avoiding plastic and environmentally harmful materials, the only natural reaction came: then I'll just have to do it myself. This motivation, coupled with endless creativity, a power of persuasion and a past career as a poker player, make her a unique founder. Responsibilities at FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE include product design, head of production, and photo and video.

Johanna is actually a doctor in real life and works as an anesthesiologist, where she gives people beautiful dreams every day. In her free time she dreams of saving theplanet and is therefore also co-founder of FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE. There she is at the same time model (with the toothpaste smile), social media manager, customer support and the finance department.

What unites both of us is an endless love for activities in nature and the desire to preserve this nature for the generations to come.
