Als der Komponist Johann Adolph Hasse 1768 "Piramo e Tisbe" schrieb, war er der wohl meistgespielte Opernkomponist des Spätbarock. Mit dem emotional ungemein packenden Werk stieß er musikalisch in eine neue Opernära vor. Der dem Werk zugrundeliegende literarische Stoff hat Shakespearesche Qualitäten: eine Familienfehde um zwei junge, unglücklich Liebende, die tragisch endet... Wir bringen das Werk mit internationalen Sängerstars und im Originalklang neu zum Leuchten!
