Poem - Poetry meets Movement

Hello everyone!
My name is Maria and I was born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. I first started my dance journey with Rhythmic Gymnastics in Canada, and after got accepted and completed the studies at Vaganova Ballet Academy in Russia.
After graduation I joined St.Petersburg Ballet Theater (SPBT) and toured worldwide performing different roles in the classical versions of Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, La Bayadere, Romeo and Juliet.
But ballet wasn't the only style I wanted to dance, so in 2015 I started a Bachelor's program in Contemporary Dance at HfMDK, Frankfurt. During my studies I got a chance to be involved in the creative process of new pieces with different choreographers, as well as learning set repertoire.
I also participated in different projects outside from studies involving improvisation at museums and churches. One of my recent creations was a solo lecture-performance “CyborgBallet” produced by Isabella Roumiantsev and a short-film project “Detached”.
