Exhibition and performance on Friday the 10th of august at 7pm at the Pavillon am Milchhof, Schwedter Str. 232, 10435 Berlin. Further performances on Friday the 17th of august at 7pm and a closing event on Friday the 24th of August 2012 at 7pm (a lecture and open discussion will follow).
The results of the past work from possible.movement will be presented inside and around the Pavillon am Milchhof as well as new drawings, compositions and movement-phrases created during the rehearsal process of the performance. The work that emerges throughout the exhibition will be shown in a series of performances that are gradually developed. These performances are conceived specifically for the Pavillon am Milchhof.
In the process the themes Landscape and silence will also shape the exhibition at the Pavillon. Possible.movement is currently working intensively with these themes.
The development of the materials, the silence of the urban landscape, the calmness of the movements and its emptiness will be explored. Alongside the exhibition, "silent walks" and workshops will take place.
The primary purpose of this project is to further develop our philosophy and means of communication as an interdisciplinary group. As well as add to the cultural environment around Pavillon am Milchhoff by creating and distilling our material from it. This project is intended to reach and affect the community in and around Pavilion am Milchhof in Prenzlauerberg. This is done by lectures, performances, and workshops we will give during our month long curation.
To add to as well as make people aware of the nuances of their environment, and to make them aware of their alternative means of performance situations and alternative means of
improvisation.
The funding will help pay for expenses such as visual art materials, press and promotion as well as a modest fee for the performers and curators.
possible.movement / artistic research
The ensemble possible.movement is a collaboration between the artists Ingolf Watzlaw (visual art), Daniel Vezza (composition), Claudia Garbe (choreography) and Johanne Castillo Bro (documentation).
Its primary goal is to find ways to interchange and to develop an artistic praxis by researching the interface between graphic, sound and movement, and present the results in performances and instillations.
Possible.movement understands art as a varied instrument, which is used to enable experience and provoke acts. The artistic creation should not be understood as the main part of the work, but rather the artistic process itself.
The intention of possible.movement is to let the audience discover new experiences in relation to the interaction between sound, space, graphic, and movement.
