With this budget I can cover main costs of the movie.
In our society there are different perspectives on consumption and it is not always easy for us to understand an opposing position. In this short film I would like to introduce five perspectives and initiate a dialogue about consumption by sharing my tips on better consumption.
The aim of the project is to make an explanatory film that is not only informative but also entertaining for people of different ages and backgrounds. That's also why we're making the first version of it in English, so that it can reach more people.
Our throw-away society has devastating consequences for our environment and therefore for all of us. Nevertheless, an open discourse about our consumer behavior does not seem to be possible yet. Consumer criticism often seems to be perceived as an attack on one's own privacy. With the film I want to give people a different perspectives on consumer behavior, well aware that very few can consistently adhere to very strict buying rules. Everyone should be able to identify themselves with one or the other statements made in the film and give them the courage to talk openly about consumption and their purchase decisions and to discuss them with others without being bias.
As part of the Rebound Stuff project, I started many projects, that I am convinced of, at once. Unfortunately, I cannot finance all of them out of my own pocket. With the money from this Startnext campaign, I can have the short film produced just as I imagine it, so that it reaches as many people as possible and inspires them to think about their consumption. And continue to finish the other projects as well.
My name is Doris Schoger and I started the Rebound Stuff project at the beginning of this year. I worked in the fast fashion industry for a long time and ultimately decided to turn my back on it. Now I'm doing on my own, marketing for the transformation of our consumption into the economy of good things.
