SPIELANLEITUNG & KRÄUTERLISTE
Romilda, a Germanic 12-year-old girl is on the island of Samsø to be trained as a healer. The Visja (wise woman) Eirrith gave her the task of collecting herbs, preparing them and selling them on the market.
Since Romilda is completely overwhelmed at the moment, she asks you to take on this task.
First 7 to 9 preparation cards are laid out and then you have to draw the herb cards to collect the respective herbs of one of these preparations.
Each player draws 5 herb cards to start their collection.
The animal spirits Lotta, Jaxen, Tösky and Piri will help you to get more herb cards.
You can get a trade permit from the Visja Eirrith, the Yarl Brantwulf or the blacksmith Hersmið and exchange herbs with your fellow players.
If you're lucky with the rune dice, you can draw a herb card from another player's hand.
If you get the lucky card from Romilda, it will help you a lot. But it is also very rare.
Individual preparations achieve from one to five "Asgol" on the market. You can see how much "Asgol" you get for a preparation on the preparation card.
When all the preparations laid out have been made, the game is over. The winner is whoever gets the most "Asgol" on the market with their preparations.
Target group: (recommended from 10 to 12 years)
Anyone who loves the fun and socializing of playing together.
Everyone who enjoys nature and its beauty, especially "big city kids".
Everyone who likes games with which you can also learn something while playing.
Everyone for whom "grandma's home remedies" is natural medicine and not witchcraft. This reflects our SDG secondary goal of "health".
Goals:
Of course, the focus is on having fun with the game, and that everyone needs a time when they are far, far away from everyday worries and find relaxation. Enjoy the lovingly and detailed illustrations and the calm that emanates from plants.
Learning while playing however is the main approach of the game idea. We support the SDG goal "Education". Because everyday life shows us that "education is necessary" and not only in developing countries. The keys to education are reading, comprehending what has been read and the opportunities for action that result from it.
This should be promoted by the game.
This is the pedagogical approach behind the game:
Reading itself is trained (It's not called "garlic thingy" but "garlic mustard") as well as word recognition. The word on the card must be found again on the preparation cards. Comparison and recognition in connection with other words are trained in order to arrive at a result.
Since playing should be fun and not frustrating, the preparations are designed for different levels of difficulty: from one to five ingredients (there are 5 cards for each variant). Success brings satisfaction and encourages more success.
This trains logical-tactical thinking and observation. Skilled players who are comfortable reading and familiar with the cards can now focus more on watching their opponents take and discard. You also have time to think about what you collect yourself and whether you should change your tactics, discard cards and collect new ones for another preparation that promises more success.
And you are not completely on your own. Jokers (called animal spirits; after all, we are moving in the world of the Germanics) help to draw more cards. More cards can lead to faster success.
Finally, the “Trade Cards”. Players shouldn't sit in silence all the time like in front of their computer. After all, communication also needs to be learned. The variables that result from the frequency of individual herb cards are designed in such a way that the "lone fighter" only succeeds with a lot of luck and with difficulty. Most herbs only exist once. Only those who communicate, convince others to exchange cards and occasionally make compromises will make progress more easily.
You should think about playing the variant of the game with rune dice, with which you can take a card from another player. We are all susceptible to glee, and being fortunate enough to take something away from someone always inspires some glee. The whole gameplay of "Mensch ärgere dich nicht" is based on it. Can the players deal with it? Does taking a loss foster tolerance and even spurs it on? The parents or game masters have to decide for themselves.
Finally, it should be said that the rules of the game, through appropriate exceptions, are designed in such a way that a player is never pushed out of the game and then has to watch the others without cards. Players always finish the game together!
Because you love herbs, natural remedies and games and you like the game idea and beautiful cards.
Because you like to support games where you can learn while playing and which have an educational approach.
Because you think it's good to give away the game to youth and leisure facilities.
Because you think it's good to also give away the memory game "Romilda's mushroom basket". (see financing)
Because you simply find the whole idea behind it worth supporting!
Since the layout, graphics, and game instructions are already complete, orders for the production of the cards, dice, game instructions, and packaging are placed immediately.
By choosing the "flexible campaign" the fulfillment of all "thanks" is guaranteed.
Every backer will receive his "thank you"!
After the production, depending on the manufacturer and the "thank you", it takes 4 to 6 weeks, the "thank you" will be sent.
For our goal of having 500 games made, for the "thank you" and for packaging and shipping, the total costs are around €12,000.00. If you support us with more, we will use the "overhang" to realize the memory game "Romilda's mushroom basket" (already available as a separately produced "thank you").

Half of all games from "Romilda's mushroom basket" that we can make from the overhang are donated to youth and leisure facilities in Berlin and Brandenburg.
