Wir sammeln Geld für die Möblierung einer Schule in der Volta-Region in Ghana.
The school in Tsikudokope in the Volta-Region has been built with financial funding from CDV Germany and is operated since 2017 with volunteer teachers. Because of the high demand for education in the area and the lack of equally good teaching quality the number of pupils has significantly increased over the last years. In autumn 2022 a school extension building has been finished but due to the recent increase of construction cost the planned financial efforts were not sufficient to buy a sufficient number of furniture. Currently some kids sit on the floor during the lessons.
With this funding we want to collect money so that our Ghanaian branch of our association can buy furniture locally. The following equipment shall be procured:
total: 2.985 EUR. If we don't manage to get the full funding sum, the director and head teacher will select the priority what to procure.
Primary goal is the funding of the school furniture. Should we reach more than the sum mentioned above, any money will be put into the regular association work, e.g. into the extension of our farm which shall contribute in the long term to finance school operating cost.
The Volta Region is one of the poorest regions in Ghana. Access to school education is difficult in rural regions. By providing school furniture we enable the kids to get a better school experience and hope to motivate the kids to regularly attend school.
The money will be transferred to our partner association in Ghana. Our association members will buy the furniture in the city of Juapong in Volta region (close to Tsikudokope). They will take care of the transport to school and installation.
The Community Development Volta e.V. association was funded in 2013 in Stuttgart Germany to provide development help in the Volta region. Our funder and association director Paul who lives in Stuttgart was born in the Volta Region and knows the local problems from his regular visits to the area. Our partner association in Ghana develops realization concepts - which we discuss in our German branch and then look for funding opportunities. Such we were able to open a school building in Tsikudokope in 2018, since 2020 the access to the school is facilitated by a school bus. Since 2022 the school extension building has been in operation, thanks to significant funding from different foundations in Germany.
In autumn 2022 I (Thomas, "father" of this ground funding) visited Ghana for the first time and was amazed by the value of the associations work. The enthusiasm and warmth of the Ghanaian friends was overwhelming.
