Crowdfunding since 2010
The 18-year-old SIN wants to get "clean" on her own after a heroin addiction relapse. She wins over her friend ILLY with the idea of escaping to an island in the south to start a drug free life. To get the passport for the flight, they visit Illy's mother. The detour reveals the social and character differences between the two and makes her plan a failure. Sin realizes that her way out of addiction is to go it alone.

What is this project all about?

SIN & ILLY is a coming-of-age feature film and tells the story of the heroin addict girls SIN and ILLY in today's drug scene of Frankfurt am Main, who want to get "clean" again under their own steam and by going through "cold turkey".

The film is based on a true story, which happened in 1990 in Frankfurt am Main. The authentic narrative of SIN & ILLY wants to do away with generalizing stigma and encourage more optimistic and current perspectives for opting out of drug addiction.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The target audience of the film is to be a socially committed cinema audience that is interested in current developments and upheavals in our society.

Our young protagonist SIN experiences elementary conflicts through which she grows in character and emotionally. We want to reach an audience that can be inspired by interpersonal stories and individual problems and always look for new ways to meet people, especially in their crises.

SIN & ILLY is be evaluated upon completion on the international film festival market and then in the cinema and on television. A collaboration with a theatrical and DVD / BluRay sales is sought. We also want to make the film available for preventive and educative purposes in youth work.

Why would you support this project?

In the artistic densified form of a feature film SIN & ILLY faces, in a personal and authentic way, the current drug abuse and addiction of young people avoiding distortion thanks to artistic compromises to be met with TV producers or large, commercially oriented funding agencies. To save our independence and intransigence in the implementation, we are looking for a possible independent, risk-taking and cultural funding person, who sees it as a social necessity and an opportunity to make a difference in our society.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

To realize the film SIN & ILLY with the greatest artistic freedom and authenticity, we consciously choose a low budget. The sum of 15,000 euros covers a significant part of the financing, which is the least our feature film needs for the shooting and will emphasize our independence. Parallell we are applying for production support from various cultural film funding agencies in Germany and Austria, but we will realize the film also without further fundings from those agencies.

When we get the required amount - and with your help we will, we will begin in October 2013 with the filming of the movie. We are currently working on pre-production and development of the film. Overall, we expect about 25 days of shooting.

For the implementation of the film project we need the money for such items as:
Casting, location rent
Film equipment (camera, lighting, etc.)
travel expenses
Accommodation and food for the crew (locations: Frankfurt, Kahl am Main, Berlin)
post-production
and perhaps together with your help, there will even be a little to pay for the crew and the actors who work for the time without salary.

The unconditional commitment and passion of our entire team gives us hope that through your donations and other public funding we can find a budget that allows us to realize the film SIN & ILLY in an independent and uncompromising manner.
