What is this project all about?

We the sonic.art quartet are looking to record and produce our 3rd CD, with music by Russian composers. The highlight is the debut recording of Sofia Gubaidulina's work 'Transformation' which will feature legendary trombonist Christian Lindberg and our friends double bass player Beltane Ruiz Molina and cellist Wolfgang Zamastil.

We'll also be recording Glazunov's saxophone quartet Opus 109 and an arrangement made by our baritone saxophonist Annegret Schmiedl, of Shostakovich's Two Pieces for string quartet.
And a special bonus! The quartet will team up with the amazing soprano Evelina Dobračeva to record Elena Firsova's 'Nacht' op.20.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

The goal of this project is to produce a unique CD of the highest quality. That's why we've searched for the best associate artists one could hope for and the best recording engineers and recording studio in Germany.

This CD project is for music lovers and everyone who is interested in supporting the arts.

The sonic.art quartet is dedicated to promoting new music and a vital part of this is the recording of new works. Gubaidulina's 'Transformation' is a masterpiece and we believe that it must be recorded and put out into the world.

Why would you support this project?

You'll be supporting something brand new and creative: new music by Sofia Gubaidulina that has never been recorded, along with outstanding works by Glazunov, Shostakovich and Firsova. And without your support, it won't happen!

The artists featured are first class and the resulting recording should be something very special. And you'll be able to take home some of the great rewards!

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

Your support will fund the recording and production of our CD.
This includes all the costs that come with recording, mastering, production and everything from CD Layout and design, to recording engineers, to GEMA, to covering the expenses of our amazing guest artists.
