Reaching this goal would allow us to cover all our album costs!
We are four young music students from Berlin and Leipzig. We have recently recorded our second album and now want to complete it. Its theme concerns communication, inner monologues and observations of our times. Each piece is its own small cosmos and yet flows as if from itself into the overall context. In this, the elements of water and air play a leading role in the music and text. That comes also from some songs having been created on a Finnish island and partly directly recorded there. Three quarters of a year later the work on some of the other songs was completed at a lake somewhere in Denmark. In total, Flying Waves is a varied and powerful work, the whole like "real" waves in the ocean constantly changing to and fro between tension and relaxation.
We have two goals: the first of 5,000 Euros would allow us to cover our costs and to let the album be created as planned; the second of 10,000 Euros would allow us in addition to have a dream come true: to produce a professional music video for one of the album songs. In this, our campaign is directed potentially at everyone. We hope to convince as many of you as possible about us and our music and would be pleased at any means of further distribution of this campaign.
Simply, we are convinced by our music and if we succeed in convincing you also then you can support us and for this can choose something from the list on the right – that is what you get from it. There are really many steps in the production of such an album, and each one costs money. We are as music students on our way to becoming professionals and for this reason work together with professionals, which on the one hand makes things not cheaper, but on the other leads to us having in the end a high quality product which we can sell with good conscience. Until then we have to go rather into forward financing, and exactly in this you can support us.
If we reach the first goal, as said that covers our costs which include:
- Studio hire and sound engineer
- Mixing (for example: just this alone took 13 full work days in the mixing studio with a mixing sound engineer)
- Mastering
- Graphic design (Layout, Cover and Booklet design, poster design etc.)
- Pressing (technical production of the CDs) & GEMA (German copyright organisation) fees.
When the album is then successfully completed, we will present it on our autumn and winter record release tour. What we earn from the live concerts goes into our band cash fund, and from this we have already paid most of the production costs i.e. we need "only"still a top up because the money is not enough.
Anna, Hermann, Raphael and Robert together we are Still in the Woods, still "in the woods" and always in the search for new impulses, and so in our opinion the new album is tonally more contemporary than the first work "Rootless Tree". We are on the move a lot, not only for the current album production which took place in Finland, Denmark, Berlin, Leipzig and in many other places, but rather also because we often and very much enjoy appearing live (as we say, there will also be a record release tour for the new album). The interaction with the public and amongst ourselves on stage is something special for us every time and therefore means a lot to us.
