Die Windelei is a consistently sustainable and modern diaper service. We rent, deliver and wash cloth diapers.
Die Windelei rents out modern reusable diapers with skin and eco-friendly organic cotton and hemp inserts. The used diapers are picked up at the front door and exchanged for fresh ones. They are then washed in a way that conserves natural resources. Thanks to the special labelling of the diapers, each child receives his or her personal quota back after washing. Together with you we would like to bring Windelei to Munich and expand it further in Berlin.

What is this project all about?
Cloth diapers should become a serious alternative to diaper waste. Our service removes all obstacles: we lend, deliver and wash reusable diapers, and are always available for advice. This way parents can diaper their child in an uncomplicated, healthy and eco-friendly way - without any effort!
With this project we want to do something good for Munich parents, their babies and our environment. But also even more families in Berlin should be able to benefit from our service. In the ideal case, even further cities may look forward to the nappy change.
What is the project goal and who is the project for?
It is our aim to establish the Windelei service not only in Berlin but also in Munich.
Who is our target group?
- everyone who wants the best for our babies – parents (to-be), grandparents, aunts and uncles, ...
- all those who want to conserve resources and avoid unnecessary waste - because we are convinced that every cloth-diapered child makes a difference!
Why would you support this project?
- Because baby bottoms should only get in contact with natural substances without chemicals.
- Because many more parents should learn how easy and comfortable it is to use cloth diapers
- Because we save 1.5 tons of residual waste per child
- Because our diapers just look super cute
How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?
To be able to start in Munich, we need a lot of diapers!
With your support, we can buy the first packs of cloth diapers and nappy changing accessories to lend them out to families.
By reaching the second funding goal, you will enable us to provide many more families with cloth diapers. We can decisively expand our customer base in Berlin and Munich and start expanding into other cities.
We will also introduce additional sweet designs to our diaper covers and add more sustainable baby products to our range.

Sonja - Berlin mum, chemical laboratory assistant, industrial engineer and founder of the Windelei.
Franziska - Munich mum, business economist and cloth diaper fan.
It is our passion to make it possible for even more parents to use cloth diapers.
