Expect the unexpected with our CD chock full of taboos, presenting to you world premiere recordings from composers of our time. Why on earth do taboos exist? Are we not all human beings? What is this project all about?

Primal fears. Shame. Death. Perfection. Depression. Farting. Sexuality. Orgasm. Racism. Being Different. Which taboos would YOU gladly feed into the Tabumator and bid good riddance to?

Our CD presents us with a golden opportunity to not just break with taboos, but also support fascinating composers of our times as well as the contemporary art song repertoire. In doing so we bring these musical gems alongside their associated taboos and subjects out into the open, liberating them and giving them a voice.

We shine the spotlight on three contemporary composers: Serbian composer Snežana Nešić who is based in Hannover (Germany), Singaporean composer Americ Goh, and Hermann Reutter from Stuttgart, Germany. Lastly, Canadian composer Eliazer Kramer has also created a special arrangement of as our bonus track. This was originally composed for Lori Malépart-Traversy's animation 'Le clitoris'.

Stay tuned to our YouTube Playlist for more videos on this topic in the upcoming weeks!

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

We are determined to liberate the ears of our audiences from what they´re used to, and to awaken their curiosity. We want to add a splash of colour and diversity to the classical art song CD market. We are intent on initiating conversations about taboos in today's society with these songs. Shocking and vulgar? Sounds just about right!

Our audience can be anyone from 12-99 years old who appreciates the arts: concertgoers, professionals, amateurs, fans of the artsong…Anyone who wants to hear something NEW for a change. The song texts are in German, English, French and Latin - quite international.

Why would you support this project?

Our CD is entirely made up of world premiere recordings. Some of these songs have been specially composed for us, and some of them have yet to be performed on stage. That´s something we want to alter, and quickly at that, as these songs are too good to remain undiscovered any longer. You could be a part of this journey of unearthing, revival and discovery!

Our CD is essentially a snapshot for eternity, captured forever on a recording. You would be able to reflect upon your own personal taboos and join us in a discourse. Last but not least, we have a wide variety of thank you gifts for your generous support!

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The money we raise will be used to finance all aspects of a big CD production. This includes the following: hall rental of the Radio Bremen, rental and tuning of a grand piano, a sound engineer for three days of recording, commissioning fees, design and layout of the CD booklet, production and advertisement of the CD, a photoshoot, and execution of CD release concerts and song recitals.

We will be happy to send you an updated financial plan on request.
