What is this project all about?

What drives us: As a consumer you are constantly confronted with long lists of ingredients, full of difficult words and technical terms. Most products in the supermarket are full of fake promises and are not healthy at all.

What we like to change: Transparent products, produced in a fair and sustainable way - also for your pets.
Short list of ingredients, no sugar, no soy, no wheat, no gluten and no GMOs. And of course no artificial additives or flavors.

What is so special about Tales & Tails:
It is its origin and the manufacturing process! Our products are made of 100% fish from Iceland. They are processed with 100% renewable energy. Over a long period of time the fish is gently air-dried without being heated or baked, thus retaining important nutrients and vitamins.
The list of ingredients is short and easily understood and biological appropriate for the many gourmets and allergy sufferers.

Fish is just for cats!
Some dogs have already been given the chance to taste dried fish, but our special drying process gives our products a unique taste that is especially well accepted by dogs.
For the cat lovers: We are also planning products for cats - with your help, we can start very soon!

Why Iceland?
Iceland is a country with a beautiful nature, very clean water, clean air and healthy food. We get the high-quality raw materials for our food such as the fish from fishermen in the region. Iceland and Norway are among the countries that have introduced a so-called quota system for fishing. Sustainability plays an important role in the fishing industry of these countries. Each year the quotas and total catch figures are redefined, which has helped that the fish stock in Iceland has recovered over the last couple of years.

100% renewable energy:
Iceland is the leader of producing electricity out of renewable sources. The conditions for the use of geothermal energy are perfect. The largest electricity supplier in the country provides 100% renewable electricity. For comparison, in Germany there are currently about 33% of energy produced out of renewable sources.

1 bag = 1 donation:
With every bag sold a donation goes towards an animal charity project.
It might sound crazy, but we would love to see this principle in everything we buy. Imagine to do something good with everything you buy! Without additional effort and just like that?! Sounds too good to be true? We believe in it and want to spread this idea!
Our current partner is the association Animal Hope and Wellness e.V. For each product sold 5 cents go to the club.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

Our goal is to produce credible and sustainable products for pets.
No complicated, long ingredient lists anymore and no more sugar and additives. And above all, we want our consumers to be able to do something good with every purchase - for your own dog and for other animals in need.

Why would you support this project?

For two reasons:
1. We all want good and healthy food and treats, not just for us but also for our pets.
2. We make sure that not only your pet is fine, but also help you to improve your karma by helping other animals in need.

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

Part of the money goes – according to our vision - to the Animal Hope and Wellness foundation and their newly built rescue station for rescued dogs from the dog meat market in Asia.
With the second part we would like to develop further varieties and further products - among products for dogs also products for cats.
The ultimate goal is to make many more animals and their owners happy.

Who are the people behind the project?

Hi, we are Kaja, Stella and Cathrin - and we are the founders of Tales&Tails.

Our professional treat-tester: Arthur, Snippy and Henry support us and have quite a few years of snack experience.
